Job Description: 

Sunkist is seeking a talented and seasoned executive for the position of Vice President of Finance and CFO in our Valencia, Ca. office.

The Vice President and CFO reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer assumes a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, tax, deal analysis and negotiations, institutional financing, risk management and pension administration.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & CFO is a senior management team representing accounting, planning & budgeting, and tax. There are approximately 22 exempt and non-exempt employees in these departments.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Provide leadership and development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Assume a key leadership role for process improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma).
  • Ensure credibility of the Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Establish hands-on role in Company’s Sales, Operations and Planning System replacement project.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, and introduction of new programs/ strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs, and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance & accounting, tax and pension administration functions of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by Sunkist’s SVP & COO.

 

Education: 

BS in Accounting or Finance; or equivalent. MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.

Qualifications: 
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Seasoned executive with an outstanding track record and reputation for his/her financial acumen, business judgment, quantitative analysis ability, leadership skills and integrity.  
  • Experience as a senior financial executive in a mid-sized to large company with both domestic and international operations. 
  • Business-minded Chief Financial Officer who is operationally focused and has the ability to be hands-on, working comfortably at all levels of the Company.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to respect the company’s heritage, while at the same time driving initiatives that will enable Sunkist to be even more competitive in the future.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • A professional that is a great motivator, coach and leader of people at all levels of the organization. He/she must have a strong work ethic and possess great communication skills both orally and written.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • A strategic thinker who uses a pragmatic method in setting priorities and holding people accountable.
  • Skilled at using a common sense approach to problem solving.
  • General familiarity with the structure and culture of agricultural marketing cooperatives.
