Kelly Osbourne came under fire on Tuesday after she made a racially insensitive remark on The View while discussing Donald Trump’s controversial statements about the Latino community.

“If you kick every Latino out of this country, who’s going to clean your toilets, Donald Trump?” the guest co-host said.

Co-host Rosie Perez quickly jumped in. “There’s more jobs than that in the country for Latinos,” Perez said. “And Latinos are not the only people who clean toilets.”

Osbourne’s comments prompted a ton of backlash on Twitter, with #QueridaKellyOsbourne (Dear Kelly Osbourne) trending soon after.

Following the online backlash, Osbourne took to social media clarify her comments. “I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words,” she wrote, “but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT.” Osbourne added that she always takes responsibility for her actions and should’ve known better. “I’ve learned a very valuable lesson,” Osbourne continued. “It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole.”

Perez also chimed in on Twitter, saying she believes Osbourne’s heart is “so pure & righteous.”

Earlier in the year, Osbourne resigned from her role as a co-host of E!’s Fashion Police following Giuliana Rancic’s insensitive comments about Zendaya.
