Tell Congress to include addiction recovery funding in the next COVID-19 stimulus package

Millions of people living with or in recovery from addiction have had their routines abruptly interrupted due to the COVID-19 crisis and are now fighting their personal battles without physical proximity to friends, family, support groups, or treatment providers.

That’s why Advocates for Opioid Recovery has teamed up with NAMA Recovery and other advocates to urge Congress to include treatment and recovery funding in the next COVID-19 relief package.

Specifically, we are requesting funding for treatment and recovery services: $300 million to support opioid treatment programs (OTPs) and an additional funding stream for recovery support services, including peer support, recovery meetings, job and life skills training, and telecommunications tools. Additionally, we’re asking Congress and HHS to address barriers to telehealth, including allowing OTPs to use telehealth to conduct initial medical exams.

We’re counting on your support to help get this critical funding!
