It’s officially the heart of summer, and with sunny days comes a thirst for adventure: road trips, campouts, and outdoor activities (SUP yoga, anyone?). With all this excitement, it can be easy to let go of your total health and wellness. Here are 5 tips for keeping your energy level high, your mood calm, and your body healthy.

1. Stay hydrated.
Dehydration can lead to false feelings of hunger and fatigue and make us more susceptible to illness (yes, you can get sick in the summertime!). So make sure to grab that CamelBak water bottle, fill it up with ice-cold water, and take it everywhere with you. Luckily, CamelBak bottles keep water cold for many hours, so you’ll always feel refreshed.

2. Take your vitamins.
For those of us who rely on our supplements, it might seem daunting to bring along all of those bottles. Make it easier on yourself this summer and simply take a MegaFood Multivitamin. They have separate formulas that cater to men and women individually, so you know you’re getting just what you need. Plus, MegaFood is reliable with their ingredients, so no need to worry about whether you’re really getting all of those nutrients.

3. Go somewhere alone.
Friends are wonderful and family is lovely, but sometimes it can be more beneficial to take some time for yourself this summer. Take a hike alone, clear your mind, and allow yourself time to acknowledge how much you can do on your own. If you’re with your family, take a walk and breathe. This will allow you to return to everything with a calmer, fresher approach.

4. Take care of injuries.
Summertime is for running around with our kids, hiking, and swimming, all of which can lead to injuries. It’s easy to slap a bandage on a cut or scrape, but germs can sneak in through the small breaks in the skin. Boiron makes an incredible Calendula Cream that can reduce pain and swelling, disinfect, and protect injuries, all completely naturally.

5. Don’t skimp on sunscreen.
The sun makes us feel so good when we bathe in it, but whether you’re traveling to exotic places or relaxing in your backyard, don’t forget to take care of your skin. If you can’t find a brand to trust with all those chemicals out there, try Babo Botanicals. Their Sheer Zinc Sunscreen with SPF 30 works great, smells good, and isn’t sticky. So lather up!
