Austin’s Southern Food Fixe Hits Fort Worth In 2018

It’s bringing biscuits, grits, and red beans & rice to The Shops at Clearfork

Fixe Southern House/Facebook

Fixe, Austin’s much-lauded Southern food restaurant, is finally opening at Ft. Worth’s Shops at Clearfork early next year, more than a year after announcing the move.

The 200-seat restaurant will join luxury tenants at the upscale Shops including Neiman Marcus and Louis Vuitton, and Chicago-based health food spot Doc B’s. The new 6100-square foot space is designed to evoke a feeling of being at “home in rural Louisiana.” Like the Austin location, the new spot will feature an open kitchen, patio, and wine room, but no word on whether an indoor traditional Southern porch will be included in Ft. Worth.

The “progressive Southern restaurant” has racked up accolades for serving upscale Southern fare, like a lobster and crawfish pot pie and a duck entree featuring duck fat hushpuppies. To put a fine point on Fixe’s Southern street cred, there is an entire section of the menu dedicated to grits, and yes, biscuits abound. Another traditional Southern staple, red beans and rice, winds up on the dessert menu with only the description "trust us!!!"

Fixe is currently planning to open its Fort Worth outpost in January 2018. Stay tuned for an official opening date.
