Blind item: Who is the 40-something actor loathed by all of his female costars?

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga at 'A Star Is Born' press conference photocall

It’s been forever since we’ve had a whiff of a good blind item. Blind items are so dark and depressing lately, have you noticed that? But this is a simple one, and it comes courtesy of Yashar Ali, who was asked to change the subject to something lighter and he came up with this good blind item:

In the comments, he specified that this is not some B-list TV actor, it’s someone “very famous” and “in his 40s.” He also specified that it’s NOT Leonardo DiCaprio (which makes sense, because almost everyone in Hollywood likes Leo and he rarely even works with women).

So… any guesses? My top guesses are James Franco (42), Tobey Maguire (45) or…Joaquin Phoenix (45)? Joaquin is just a throw-any-name-out-there guess. I think Joaquin is probably a douche to work with (the very definition of a “difficult actor”) but I’m not sure he creeps out his female costars. Tobey and James Franco on the other hand… they seem creepy at all times. And Tom Cruise is too old for this blind item AND for what it’s worth, many of Cruise’s costars like the guy and think he’s a total pro. Oh, what about Bradley Cooper? He’s 45 and I’ve always found him creepy AF.

  1. Feedmechips says:

    Bradley Cooper or Jeremy Renner.

    • ChillyWilly says:

Renner is a good guess! Dude is both creepy and a douche bag.

    • roo says:

Oh Jeremy Renner is a good one! Lady Gaga was seemingly obsessed with Bradly Cooper. And Jennifer Lawrence did a few movies with him as well. I think it’ Jeremy Renner. Mega creep out vibes.

      • Becks1 says:

oh that’s a good point about Cooper. There are some actresses who work with him repeatedly and I don’t think they would do that if he was that disliked.

      • Mac says:

Does Renner count as someone who is very famous?

      • Jellybean says:

Renner also works with women on multiple films and has hung out socially with Gaga – I have seen a photo of her at his home playing around in in his music studio. Renner didn’t post it, it was a musician friend of his and Renner’s name wasn’t mentioned, I just recognised the room. Renner has also become friends with Pink after being in a video of hers years ago; they interact on instagram a bit and seem to have spent a fair amount of time together.

      • Antanina says:

Well, there were stories that Bradley and Gaga actually hated each other and all that love was a show for the awards season. Regarding Jennifer Lawrence, she worked with Harvey Weinstein on quite few movies too and was full of love and compliments for him too, so I don’t think we can count her as reliable. I say, let’s put Bradley back on the suspect list.

      • roo says:

What about Christian Bale? Do we know if this is an American actor they are referring too? Isn’t he super difficult? He’s 46.

      • paranormalgirl says:

@Antanina – I thought she only did “Silver Linings Playbook” with Weinstein.

      • Caitrin says:

        Roo, Bale is British.

      • roo says:

Caitrin, I know he is. Trying to rule him out by asking if it’s an American actor.

      • Belly says:

@paranormalgirl they also did American Hustle and Joy, off the top of my head. There may be others.

      • Brenda says:

@Belly Weinstein had nothing to do with either of those movies. Only SLP was a Weinstein/JLaw movie.

    • Jellybean says:

It is not Renner. AFTER working with him Charlize helped run his oscar campaign for a different film, Scarlett and Amy Adams asked him to present their Hollywood stars. Amy also specifically asked him to take the role in Arrival because she wanted someone she could trust to really support her, since it was a big film for her to lead and her role was very demanding. He has worked with Elizabeth Olsen on numerous occasions and between films they have hung out together; he also helped her renovate her home.

      • Jellybean says:

Plus when Amy Adams was being interviewed by Kelly Rippa, they started talking about Renner, about how much they both liked him, that he was surprisingly sweet and that Amy had known him for 20 years. When Renner gave a speech at Amy’s star award her husband posted a picture describing him as one of their favourite people. I actually got the impression on the American Hustle press tour that Amy didn’t like Cooper – just a gut feeling though, I have nothing to back it up.

      • Lightpurple says:

I was going to point all these out too. I don’t think it is Renner. There are too many actresses like Amy Adams and Elizabeth Olsen who seem to enjoy friendships with him.

      • Darla says:

Ah, okay. I find him creepy, and also feel he’s high a lot during promo tour interviews. Scarjo’s word about any man is less than meaningless. But Amy, Charlize and Lizzie, that’s different. I guess it’s not him. I don’t know why I’m curious who it is, I don’t even like Ali and who knows if this is even true.

    • Virginia says:

The blind says “On a personal level” l say is Brad Pitt and his higiene routines. Just guessing.

    • Ellie says:

I think it’s Bradley Cooper, because it fits with the profile that Taffy Broedeser-Akner wrote on him where he seemed like a MAJOR douchebag. Worth reading anyhow because it’s brilliant.

    • JanaTHING says:

I have never understood the attraction for Jeremy Renner….he’s short, below average looking and not even a good actor.

  2. McMom says:

I don’t think this refers to Franco or Maguire because it wouldn’t be much of a blind; of course women are grossed out by them. Cooper is a good guess because non-Hollywood women seem to find him attractive (although he looks like a ferret to me),

    • Intheknow says:

@Mcmom, Thank you for my first LOL. Which I needed. Also, thanks for helping me understand why I don’t find him attractive, it’s because he has ferret face.

Anyhow, I’ve always found him super creepy but can’t put my finger on it.

      • JC says:

He always reminded me of a hyena and kind of creeped me out. Particularly in Wedding Crashers. It’s the smile.

    • clomo says:

Ahaha, he looks bird like to me, emu maybe?

    • Poots McBoots says:

Co-sign on Cooper. I suppose Renner is a good guess. Too bad. I always enjoy his on-screen work. My husband agrees with me though: Renner vibes like a creep offscreen. Of course, all that litigation with his ex-wife didn’t do much to enhance his image, so who knows?

  3. Becks1 says:

I’m going to say James Franco or Bradley Cooper. They seem like they would just be obnoxious to work with.

    • H says:

I’m not so sure about Franco. He’s slime, but when he guest starred on General Hospital, co-stars had nothing but nice things to say about him. And I’m big on following GH stars on social media.

    • mika says:

Also James Franco is bad in a #metoo way. He might not hatass but Hollywood names but he sexually harasses very young women and theatre students with no power.

  4. ChillyWilly says:

Cooper makes the most sense to me. I’ve always gotten a sociopathic vibe from him. He just strikes me as super phony and ice cold.

    • JanetDR says:

Exactly! I fee like he is exactly his character in Wedding Crashers!

    • Scorpion says:

Omg I thought I was alone in thinking that B Cooper is a creep. I’ll never forget his character in wedding crashers. I think that’s him in real life. Toby Maguire and James Franco also give me the heebiejeebies…. Reynolds apparently loves having his ass kissed and if you don’t do it, he gets difficult. Someone J Phoenix sets my teeth on edge. He plays psychos way too well in my opinion.

    • SurfChick9 says:

He seems high maintenance, full of himself and a crybaby mama’s boy.

  5. Chickaletta says:

    Pratt?

    • Lara says:

I know the make up artist on set of the new Jurassic Park film and she said that Pratt is actually really nice. Which disappointed me.

She also worked on the eternals and said Jolie is one of the best people she’s ever met. Which pleased me.

      • Lizzie Bathory says:

@Lara, Chris Pratt was my 1st thought, so that’s interesting. I wonder if someone could be nice & professional with hair & makeup, crew, etc but also be kind of a weirdo that co-stars didn’t click with on a personal level? Who knows.

Nice to hear that Angie is lovely.

      • Parri says:

I know several people who have worked with Pratt and said he was great to work with. There was/is a fair amount of Scientologist and other faith weirdos in the Entertainment industry you tend to try to step over that minefield by ignoring that topic entirely FYI.

I also met Angelina Jolie at the Discovery Network years ago, and she was very sweet, professional and unbelievably even more beautiful in person, plus tall. That was probably her heels at the time still I just remember her that way. Cooper has a pretty good reputation, so I doubt it’s him. I’m going with a fading A-lister, similar to Tobey Maguire in that respect. How about Gerard Butler? Just heard a few things.

My initial guess was too old for the blind, Tim Robbins. I worked with him once and he was the rudest person to work with. My favorite who lately has been getting a bit bad press was Morgan Freeman. He was nice, friendly and professional.

      • Courtney B says:

Bryce Dallas Howard and Zoe saldana who’ve worked with him multiple times love him.

      • Melissa says:

That sums up 2020 — disappointed to learn that someone was a nice person. 🤷‍♀️

    • Esme says:

+1 Pratt does creep me out – to me he has something of the crazy cult leader vibe

    • SkittleBrau says:

I’ve really never heard any say anything but nice things about Pratt as a person. I doubt it’s him.

      • Notsoanonymous says:

I know this is anecdotal and he’s an easy target for hate here, but a close friend of mine / her brother have known Pratt since they were kids and grew up with him through high school. She saw him a few years ago. He’s not necessarily liked around gossip circles, but I’ve never heard anything about him that was negative. He has always been a good dude; comes back here to give money and time in our community. I can’t hate him and I can’t say I think he’s the blind here.

  6. Ferdinand says:

Thou Cooper is a great guess. I’ll go with Mark Wahlberg. He’s always been a bully and I don’t buy not for one second his now church-dad persona.

    • Aephra says:

Mark Wahlberg is an excellent guess! He also just fits under the wire at 49.

(Vin Diesel was my guess until Siri said he is 52.)

    • Alyse says:

Oooh I like this one! No (top of my head) repeat female co-stars either…

  7. B says:

    Jared Leto? Jeremy Renner?

  8. Lara says:

    Ben Affleck or Matt Damon?

    • Yvette says:

Has either one been described as grose and creepy by their female co-stars? Not to mention the fact that Damon will be 50 in 3-months.

    • An18 says:

      I was thinking Casey Affleck

      • Jellybean says:

Casey is a good guess. He is a good actor, but I always picture him as Bob Ford in The Assassination of Jessie James. He was so creepy in that film and the vibe just seems to have stuck.

      • Becks1 says:

I don’t think of Casey as being a huge star, despite his Oscar, and there are definitely #metoo accusations about him.

      • Juniper says:

Wasn’t there a blind a couple of years ago about how Casey was harassing women on the set of “I’m Still Here?”

      • Jules says:

No, it specifically says ‘not metoo’ and Casey is just one big metoo-nightmare, so it wouldn’t be someone who is known to be abusive or a predator. More like the run-of-the-mill unlikeable.

  9. notpretentious says:

    Need more clues…

    • tig says:

I mean, it is Yashar, who has no clue who Amy Winehouse is. Which actresses would he be around? Name someone Chrissy Tiegen has worked with.

  10. Mrs. Darcy says:

I don’t interpret this as “creepy”, more just the guy is a douche/jerk kinda thing. If it was Franco there would have to be some mention of this, although Busy Phillips did experience him being an egotistical violent ass without any other undertones. I like Bradley for this, he just seems to have…issues with women, I’ll leave it at that. I can’t remember Tobey McGuire being a lead actor for awhile now, doesn’t seem big enough for a blind like this. I’ll put a wild card of Chris Pratt in the mix, just because he’s a gun toting animal killing alpha republican douche.

    • Jellybean says:

During the press tour for Endgame they asked the cast questions about each other. One question was who has worked as a stripper. When Scarlett has told it was Pratt the look on her face was priceless, she said something like ‘but he is so vanilla’, Practically everyone guessed Renner which he thought was really funny. He guessed Tom Hiddleston.

    • Victoria says:

Franco has a history of creeping on underaged girls via social media PMs

      • Mrs. Darcy says:

I know Franco is a creep, I was saying this blind sounds like it is separating the guy’s bad behaviour from metoo/that kind of thing, it’s more just a straight up personality issue? That’s how I read it.

  11. Rapunzel says:

B Coop is possible, but I don’t really think so, cause he’s worked with ladies like J Law multiple times.

Renner is a great guess (I know folks who went to HS with him in Modesto, CA, and none of them had anything good to say). But I don’t think Hawkeye is really that famous? People know his role, but not his name.

I like Marky Mark for this. He’s a known douchebag.

    • Darla says:

I agree it’s likely Renner or Wahlberg. I think it could still be Renner. He’s not what I’d call that famous, but as an OG Avenger, he kinda is. And this is just one man’s view on the subject’s level of fame.

  12. manda says:

It’s got to be tobey maguire. Jeremy Renner is a good guess, too! Hmmmmm

  13. Lucy says:

Franco or Jared Leto (although these two give both douchey AND creepy vibes).

  14. lucy2 says:

James Franco was accused of MeToo type behavior, so I don’t think it’s him.

  15. Jodi says:

i wouldn’t count the fact that J. Law worked with Cooper multiple times as being proof that he must be ok. She also worked with David O. Russell multiple times and it’s well known how difficult he can be to work with.

  16. TheOriginalMia says:

    Jared Leto

  17. lola says:

Um, Franco has his own #metoo allegations. And the tweet says it’s nothing #metoo related.

  18. Gina says:

I don’t understand the dislike of Bradley Cooper… Plus all his female costars including Jennifer Lawrence, Sienna Miller, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams and Lady Gaga seem to like him very much. Don’t think it’s him.

  19. Sara says:

What about Jared Leto? Didn’t everyone hate him on Suicide Squad? Everyone knows that method actors are the worst.
I’ve never heard anything negative about Bradley Cooper. Not sure why that’s a top guess.

  20. Oliviajoy1995 says:

Thandie Newton just talked about Tom Cruise recently and said she didn’t like working with Tom. Could be him. I’ve heard of a few women praising Bradley. Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga, Sandra Bullock. Jennifer Garner..

    • Tiffany says:

Cruise is pushing 60 so I don’t think it is him. And Tom is a PRO. Say what you will about other aspects of his life but on set the man does is job and well to the point of obsession.

    • Jellybean says:

But she seemed to find Cruise too intense about the work, not creepy.

  21. Case says:

If it’s not in a MeToo way, James Franco is out. I don’t think it’s Bradley Cooper either — Lady Gaga and J. Law both seem to love him. I personally don’t care for him (beyond his voice work as Rocket, who I adore), but I don’t think he’s universally hated or anything.

I would go with Matt Damon or Benedict Cumberbatch. Mark Wahlberg is a good guess, too.

    • Tiffany says:

      Cumberbatch??? Really??? Him???

      • Case says:

*shrugs* I get a difficult and arrogant vibe from him. Admittedly I don’t know much about him, though, so I could be way off base.

      • Ada says:

Cumberbatch can have Diva-like attitude. I know that at a Con, the hosts organized a tour of some sights nearby and Cumberbatch let other actors who went along know through his rep that he didn’t want them to speak to him. That said, his co-stars, in particular female co-stars, such as Dakota Johnson, Claire Foy or Julianne Nicholson all praise him. I guess he can be charming but also very self absorbed.

    • Darla says:

It would be so funny if it was Damon. I don’t know why. You really got me thinking now. I don’t think I’d be that surprised by this.

      • Case says:

@Darla I will never forget Damon mansplaining diversity to a Black female director. That’s what puts him at the top of my list!

      • Darla says:

Yep. You got something here, I don’t rule him out.

    • Victoria says:

This particular problem isn’t a #metoo thing but that doesn’t mean the person in question doesn’t have #metoo issues that are unrelated.

      • Dutch says:

Exactly you can have #metoo skeletons in your closet and people can still hate you for reasons totally unrelated to that.

  22. February-Pisces says:

I came up with a term “the James Franco syndrome” for when a guy is both hot and creepy AF. Jared Leto also sufferers from ‘James Franco syndrome’. Bradley Cooper is very close, but i don’t think he likes women anyway.

  23. Slowdown says:

Can you imagine if it was Paul Rudd or Mark Ruffallo? I wouldn’t believe in humanity anymore.

    • Darla says:

This wouldn’t bother me at all. Ruffalo I cannot stand, and I’m indifferent to Rudd.

    • Marietta58 says:

NOOOOOO!!! And yes, I wouldn’t believe in humanity anymore as well! They’re both way too likeable for this blind.

    • lucy2 says:

Rudd would break my heart, but I can’t imagine it’s him.

    • lunchcoma says:

Both Rudd and Ruffalo are over 50!

    • ODIE says:

Really? I’ve heard several anecdoted about Rudd being obnoxious. I just looked up the IMDB list of A-list actors 30-50 years of age and I felt like this Blind could describe 75% of them, and that’s only after narrowing down the list because the description of the actor not being sexually inappropriate excluded about 20%!

  24. Papla says:

Tobey Maguire is surely not A list?! I’d say Matt Damon, can’t think of many women in Hollywood that are friends with him? Plus add in Affleck as his sidekick it ups the creep factor.

  25. Tiffany says:

I can’t believe no one has thrown Michael Fassbender’s name out there.

Maybe is semi retirement wasn’t his choice.

  26. Mia4s says:

Leto is a damn good guess. Any @#MeToo rumours I’ve heard from him were not involving women in the industry (i.e. fellow actresses), but I also haven’t heard much good about him period. Not in the past few years at the very least.

  27. Dazed and Confused says:

Wow, so many choices for actors in their 40s who are creepy jerks. How to choose??

I keep thinking about Jennifer Esposito’s book where she talked about the unhealthy relationship she was in – everyone thought she was talking about Bradley Cooper. She was married to him for a few months before he was really in demand.

  28. Jellybean says:

Opps! I accidentally double posted. Now I will have to think of something to say. From what I have read Leto and Franco are complete creeps, Bradley Cooper gives me the creeps, so maybe other women do not like being around him, even if he is professional on set.

  29. Leah says:

I bet it’s Bradley Cooper. He’s got douche written all over him in ten foot tall letters.

  30. sassafras says:

I’m going to say Affleck. No one gushes about him or has publicly said anything bad about him because they probably all like Jen Garner and Goop and J.Lo but I can see him being a boring drunk dude bro and you have to laugh at all his jokes because he’s stupid Ben Affleck who’s friends with Matt Damon and Tom Brady. He’s not harassing, he’s not a diva, he’s probably just obnoxious in the way that women have to put up with in the workplace.

    • Juniper says:

This means zero but I met Ben 20 years ago in Vegas. He liked to play blackjack at my friend’s table. His fiancee and I visited him and he was playing. He was very pleasant and gave a newlywed couple at his table $1200 while I was there. My friend always spoke highly of him.

He’s got a reputation of being very nice to the staff in Vegas and he tips well. That always scored some points in my book. Is he nice to his costars? That I don’t know.

  31. FHMom says:

How about Christian Bale? He’s my favorite actor but scary AF.

    • Tiffany says:

Christian has gone to bat for his female costars on set. He put David O Russell in a headlock for his treatment of Amy Adams on the set of American Hustle.

      • Jellybean says:

Yes I heard that. That incident also puts another black mark against Cooper. He and Bale were with Amy a lot of the time and Cooper sat in on the editing process, so he would have seen what was happening even if he wasn’t there. It appears that he didn’t stand up for Amy or the crew, which is even worse when you consider that he was a producer on the film. His proclamation about helping costars negotiate their wages also irritated me. He was never challenged about the wages on American Hustle and he got off scott-free by telling the media what they wanted to hear. Cold and calculating that one.

    • Case says:

This is a REALLY good guess.

    • FrenchGirl says:

My guess because he doesn’t hang out with no peoples of Hollywood ( Amy Adams even said during Vice promotion that before this promo, she never takes meal with him outside of a filming even if he was the one male actor with who she shared the makeup room)

Or Jared Leto .for the reasons that everyone knows ( cult, awful behavior against female co stars)

      • Tiffany says:

But that was always with Bale. He admits that when he is done on set he just wants to head home to his family.

Dude is beyond super private. He sees filming as his job and that is about it.

      • Alyse says:

Yeah, Bale is an Actor who happens to be a Movie Star… he’s not about that life

  32. Jen says:

Bradley Cooper is a strong contender. An actress friend of a friend worked with him (post-Alias, pre-A Star is Born) and said he was a total dick (and he was not the movie’s star), while she had nothing but nice things to say about the rest of the cast.

  33. Victoria says:

    Jude Law?

  34. Winnie Cooper’s Mom says:

As long as it’s not Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds, all is right with the world!

  35. Amelie says:

I’m not sure he’s necessarily A-list and Justin Timberlake is only 39. But I remember that scandal where he was getting handsy with his costar last year or whenever that was. I could easily see him being creepy though.

  36. loba says:

Really don’t think it’s Franco or Maguire. The former has been embroiled in metoo stuff. The latter is understood to not be liked beyond Leo’s wolf pack. My money’s on B-Coop. He seems really weird. Or Chris Pratt. I know someone who worked on a set he was on and… he’s kinda chilling in a smile through gritted teeth while clearly plotting to cut your power lines way.

  37. lobstah says:

Bradley Cooper’s cast in Wet Hot American Summer LOVES him. I’ve watched a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff and they worked around his schedule to make sure he could be included in as many of the sequels as possible. I don’t think it’s him.

Ryan Reynolds? He seems smarmy and full of himself.

  38. Lululu says:

How old is Chris Evans? He gives me the heebie jeebies. I’ve never been able to figure out why. Christian Bale isn’t a bad guess, but he’s a brilliant actor so I hope it’s not him. It’s probably Bradley Cooper tho.

    • Lisa says:

      30s. I think it’s Jared Leto.

    • Courtney B says:

If you go through Evans’s film history his female costars love him. Back to Bryce Dallas Howard who raves about him years later and more.

  39. MA says:

Yashar said: creepy not in a #metoo way, not Leo, very famous.

Another verified in that thread said they’ve heard that of an actor with the same number of letters in first and last name. Could be a different person though.

Jeff goldblum? I wonder if it’s someone non obvious like …….PAUL RUDD?(!)

  40. mimi says:

I think Chris Evans is a good guess. He seems like such a frat boy and most of them are insufferable and don’t get better as they age.

    • sassafras says:

I would also co-sign this guess. I’ve gotten weird vibes with his relationships too. Like, not abusive or anything , his exes just seem like they’re dismissed.

    • Lisa says:

Well, Octavia Spencer, Yvette Nicole Brown, Scarlett Johnanssen, and even his ex-Jenny Slate have nothing but praise for him and if social media is anything to go by, adore him.

    • bonobochick says:

Chris is also in his 30s. The write-up says an actor in his 40s.

    • bonobochick says:

      double post

  41. anp says:

    An overrated actor.

  42. Imogene says:

I don’t think it is Franco because I feel like if his women costars didn’t like him it would certainly be in a me-too sorta way…

  43. Emily says:

Men who have a difficult reputation are Bale, Leto, Phoenix and Cruise.

Men who just seem like pills/take themselves too seriously are Matt Damon. Jeremy Renner, Gyllenhaal and Affleck.

Men who I would be shocked this is about are Reynolds, Gosling and Dwayne Johnson.

  44. lunchcoma says:

I’m going to go with Jared Leto. He has #MeToo issues, but almost all of those accusations have involved underage girls, which makes me think he might not bring that on set. There’s a bunch of non-sexual stuff he pulled on the Joker set, and I’ve heard some stories about him getting high around bandmates who were trying to get clean, which sounds like a generalized kind of unlikability. It would also explain why he doesn’t work much.

  45. KatieAtTheKitchenDoor says:

Tom Hardy? Charlize couldn’t stand him…

    • J.Mo says:

Charlize spoke about him recently and explained the pressure he was under and how they both contributed to a poor working relationship.

      • Hello says:

I actually liked her quite a bit more after this interview.

      • North of Boston says:

Yeah, see showed a lot of self-awareness and maturity acknowledging what was going on, the dynamic they had while working together on that film.

  46. LuLu says:

Tobey Maguire I know is an ass, my husband used to play poker with him and hated his guts, and as a professional poker player my hubs has good radar for character issues even in people who are otherwise pretty charming (or charming at first, like a lot of H’wood types). But maybe not high-profile enough. Matt Damon is an interesting guess.

    • Maverick says:

Molly Bloom said it all in her book.

I think Jared Leto is the best guess. Cooper has had a lot of repeat high-profile on-screen co-starrings; something would have come out before now if he were so obnoxious.

  47. Michelle says:

I’m gonna go with Joaquin Phoenix. Wonderful actor and really gets into his characters but he has always given off an odd vibe to me. I hope it is none of these because I really don’t want to hear any more bad news about anything!

  48. bettyrose says:

I don’t even want to look at James Franco, so I vote for him. I really hope it’s not Joaquin.

    • K.T says:

I’d vote for Franco too, he seems insufferabl lol. I think Mark Walhberg is a safe bet too. Did anyone see him on Graham Norton when he was drunk/high and he was obnoxious to Sarah Silverman? I think he was just being his true annoying self. Later he has been back on the talk show & kinda excused himself …but I think that’s really revealing… If he can act like a douche while being filmed publicly, imagine what he’s like to actresses in private!

  49. Shelley says:

Seth Rogan or Jonah Hill or Ben Stiller? I think Seth Rogan SEEMS like such a sweet, lovable guy — same with Ben Stiller, but – what do I know. And I think that Jonah Hill is such a great actor, but haven’t I read some crap about his personality on Celebitchy?

  50. detritus says:

I’d say Leto but that’s so obvious. Franco and C Affleck are known MeToo creepers, so not them. if Timberlake was a year older I’d say him.

But… what about Tom Hardy? Charlize hated him. Or Charlie Hunnam? He might not be a list though.

  51. JillyBean says:

Ha I dreamt I married Paul Rudd the other night! (He was so sweet lol)

What about Colin Farrell or Matthew mcconaughey?

Eewwwwww to Franco and Leto! Something super creepy about them

  52. BYk says:

    Leto

  53. No Doubt says:

I highly doubt it’s Bradley. Julia Roberts, J Law, Sandra, and Gaga have all gushed about him. He seems genuinely nice.

Is Jared Leto considered A list? Matt Damon or either of the Afflecks are strong possibilities.

    • North of Boston says:

I still could think it’s Bradley Cooper. Gaga, when I heard her gushing about him, described treatment from Cooper that sounded awful, about how he pressured her and played head games with her to try to manipulate her performance, to the point he was yelling at her and she was in tears. It was the first time I thought of Gaga as insecure about anything and it really put me off him.

After hearing about that behavior, I could never bring myself to watch their Star is Born, because all I’d be able to think about was “did he brow beat her while filming this scene?” “did he try to psyche her out while shooting this scene?”

  54. Div says:

Joaquin seems difficult (not creepy), but a lot of his co-stars like him. Renner comes off as a total sleaze, but a ton of celebs seemingly love him including Amy Adams and he was there for her with the David O. Russell mess. Cooper doesn’t seem impossible. The only co-stars who seem to like him are JLaw and Gaga, and I don’t think JLaw went to any of The Star is Born premieres as friendly support which you think she might have done if they were good friends. They could have just been friendly colleagues, though. And Lainey speculated that he threw Gaga under the bus after he broke up with Irina Shayk. The tabloids were speculating about Gaga but dropped it pretty quickly since they hadn’t been seen together & then People ran with this weird story that Lainey thought came from him to possibly distract from even messier sh*t.

Leto makes the most sense though. Viola clearly can’t stand him, and Margot insinuated she found him creepy asf.

  55. Achrisash says:

    How about Ryan Reynolds?

  56. Charfromdarock says:

I’d be willing to bet that the majority of them are gross.

  57. Dee Kay says:

No way is it Cooper and I cry foul at having his photo fronting this story. Cooper’s female co-stars all gush about him in interviews and not only when they were promoting their films. His male co-stars praise him, too — during the shoot of the first Hangover film, Cooper drove Ken Jeong from Vegas to LA to be at Jeong’s father’s bedside when he was going through his final illness. Cooper may be all kinds of things, who knows, but disliked by his co-workers is not one of them. I think he keeps his messiness in his private life and keeps his professional life clean.
I would believe Leto, Phoenix, or for sure Franco for this. I kind of think it’s Joaquin Phoenix, who is probably so introverted and odd-seeming that he comes off as douchey even if he doesn’t (consciously) intend to. I think he’s just a very different personality type than most Hollywood A-listers.

    • Melanie says:

I’ve read about how he helped Ken, but I thought it was when Ken’s wife was going through cancer. Either way, I’m not convinced this is about him either. However, I don’t remember him saying anything against David O.Russell for the way he treated Amy. That always bothered me.

      • Dee Kay says:

Oh you may be right. Jeong’s wife did suffer from (serious but non-lethal) cancer.

      • North of Boston says:

Plus, just because someone is kind or collegial with their male co-workers doesn’t say anything about how they treat or come across to their female co-workers.

  58. Mrs. Smith says:

I think it must be Leto. Didn’t Margot Robbie and the rest of the cast of Suicide Squad hate his guts re: the rat gift? He’s never been one that costars have spoken of kindly, so my bet is Jared. I laugh a little, tho, at the A List credential. Maybe that’s supposed to throw us off?

  59. Thekla says:

My guess is Tobey. Didn’t he offer money to a waitress/hostess if she did something humiliating?

    • Maverick says:

Molly Bloom, the poker organiser who got busted. He’s not that famous anymore though. Think Leto is the best guess.

  60. lipstickthespian says:

    100% JARED LETO

  61. Mariane says:

Joaquin is harmless. He’s awkward af but clearly gets along with his costars.
I think it’s one of the mad men guys or Chris pratt(he’s conservative and from his interviews he’s clearly not fun company)

  62. Anya says:

    I’d say Johny Depp, but he’s 57

  63. Gracie says:

Jason Segel is 40, just throwing that out there.

  64. Isabelle Vasquez says:

Jared Leto would be my first guess, “going I’m so edgy” full method on people.

  65. BountyHunter says:

    Jon Hamm?

  66. Keira Lee says:

Bradley Cooper! I remember that casting story of Gaga when she came to their first business meeting and he got up, went for the baby wipes, and took her makeup off her face. And that inspired that scene in the movie where he does the same. I remember being really creeped out by it in the movie, and to imagine this happening in my job interview? It’s not sexual abuse, but it’s establishing a control, both physical and emotional, over another person. Made my skin crawl.

  67. Becks1 says:

Just adding – I don’t think it really matters if the female co-stars gush about a male costar or rave about him or whatever. What are they going to say, “he was creepy and I was so glad when filming was over?” I find their actual actions more interesting – like Amy Adams requesting Renner for Arrival like someone said above, or Charlize working on his Oscar campaign. That says more to me than a female costar just talking about how much she liked working with him.

  68. Loretta says:

It could be Jared Leto? He was so creepy with Emilia Clarke at the SAG awards red carpet years ago. You could see how uncomfortable she was.

  69. Jules says:

It’s not Bradley Cooper. He has worker with J Lo 4 times, Sienna Miller 2 times, and is a theatre and college educated well spoken, hard working kind guy. In the height of his fame, he did and financed a stupid movie with Dax Shepard because they are childhood friends. I’d say it is Affleck, Renner, or Chris Pratt- his religious bologna would infuriate me.

    • Melanie says:

Not to nitpick, but he worked with Jennifer Lawrence not J-Lo(Jennifer Lopez’s nickname). And, didn’t Dax and Bradley meet in their late 20s or early 30s?
