A story of a baby seal rescued after being found by a group of cows is quite moooooving.

The 5-day-old seal, who has since regained her health and has been named “Celebration,” was in dire straits when it became stuck in a muddy puddle in Licolnshire, England.

Ian Ellis was in the area to watch for birds when he couldn’t help but notice a herd of 30 cows converge around a puddle. Through his telescope he could make out the tiny white animal covered in mud stuck amidst the giant heifers.

“There are seals on the edge of the marsh but it was the way the cows were so inquisitive that made me look,” he said, according to the Express in England.

The cows were curious and pushing her around a little but they were not hurting her.

He believes the seal had become separated from her mother and was swimming in a creek to find her when the tide changed and she got stuck in the marsh.

Ian Ellis, 67, was bird wtching nearby and spotted the seal. He then rushed to help her.

Ellis, 67, contacted the Natureland Seal Sanctuary who informed him to pick her up and bring the baby in. The seal was underfed and dehydrated but is now in good health and has been named “Celebration” to mark the agency’s 50th anniversary.

The animal is eating a diet full of high fat herrings and when she reaches 60 pounds will be released back to the wild.
