RECIPE ROUND UP : SHRIMP ALL-YOU-CAN

Growing up I know I have three favorite dishes – Pinoy Sweet Style Spaghetti which I truly love because my mom add tons of hotdogs, Sinigang na Baboy (Pork Sour Soup) and Fried Chicken.

My folks were also heavy meat eaters when they were younger. Mostly, they would prepare dishes like Menudo (diced pork with carrots and potatoes in a rich tomato sauce), Nilagang Baka (slow cooked Beef with lettuce, onions and potatoes) and Adobong Baboy (Pork Adobo cooked in a complimenting blend of soy sauce and vinegar with tons of garlic). Seafood such as mussels, squid, crabs, lapu-lapu, shrimp and prawns were prepared during special occasions.

As years went on and I took over the household and our daily menu, my food preference changed. I still love Pinoy Sweet Style Spaghetti, Sinigang na Baboy and Fried Chicken but seafood has greatly been added to our menu. Not only does it help with a better digestion as my parents get older, but it is healthier and easier to cook.

Shrimp is one of my favorite ingredients whenever I prepare my menu. Readers of this food blog know how much I adore shrimps and prawns. It is also one of the easiest seafood dishes to prepare. If you’re like me who juggles numerous hats, your priority is to feed your family with easy to cook dishes without suffering the taste and health benefits out of every meal.

Allow me to share with you my collection of shrimp recipes here at Eat To Your Heart’s Content. After all, May 10 is the National Shrimp Day. Let me help you celebrate with this RECIPE ROUND UP : SHRIMP ALL-YOU-CAN.

Let’s go on a seafood diet, shall we?

NUTTY SHRIMP LETTUCE BOATS

You will go nuts with this nutty concoction. Three kinds of nuts, fresh shrimp on a bed of crisp lettuce. It’s a perfect appetizer during Sunday family lunch or festive gatherings. Get the recipe here.

PRAWN SALAD

Who said salads should be boring? I used to have difficulty eating salad until I tossed some of my favorites. This Prawn Salad is healthy, delicious and so easy to prepare. Get the recipe here.

SHRIMP PASTA AGLIO E OLIO

This Shrimp Pasta is my go-to pasta. Even if I am on a budget, with just a few ingredients that are available in the pantry, all I needed are fresh shrimps. Voila! Get the recipe here.

CREAMY SHRIMP LINGUINE PASTA

Sometimes accidents happen and some turn out to be a blessing. This Creamy Shrimp Linguine Pasta is one good accident. I had an excess cream that I used in another recipe and just bought some shrimps to cook pasta. So don’t be afraid to play around in the kitchen, who knows what delicious concoction you will create by accident. Get the recipe here.

PRAWNS AND DILL : HALABOS NA SUGPO IN OLIVE OIL

This is one of the stars on my Yuletide carte du jour. Since I get to prepare our Christmas and New Year’s menu, I needed some dishes that are easy to whip and this does the trick even in less than 10 minutes. Get the recipe here.

SHRIMP AND BROCCOLI IN HOISIN SAUCE

My mom and I love Chinese food and Shrimp & Broccoli is one of our favorite dishes whenever we dine at Chinese restaurants. Since restaurant servings and prices leaves us wanting for more, I tested on perfecting my own Shrimp and Broccoli dish. This has now become one of the main stays in our bill of fare. After all, we all need to devour some super foods. Get the recipe here.

I hope you enjoyed these easy recipes as much as my family voraciously devour them every time I prepare at home. From one shrimp lover to another, go ahead and SHRIMP ALL-YOU-CAN!
