A major nightlife venue that will serve as an anchor for the biggest development the West End has seen since TD Garden will open later this month.

The $1.2 billion development has already brought a 269-room hotel called CitizenM, which opened last month, and a new Star Market grocery store, which opened last week. Later this month comes a new 40,000-square-foot restaurant and concert venue, Big Night Live.

Big Night Entertainment Group opens with its inaugural concert, DJ duo Camelphat & Gorgon City on Oct. 31. On Thursday the venue was awarded a liquor license.

The 1,200-person live music hall will occupy a portion of the entertainment space, which will also host Studio B, an event space featuring a built-in buffet and private bar perfect for dinner events and private receptions accommodating up to 440 guests. Another portion of the space will be Guy’s Fieri’s Tequila Cocina, a Mexican/Latin restaurant that will seat up to 200 guests and include a 60-person private dining room.

The opening of Big Night Entertainment’s retail space later this month signals the beginning of a new era for the West End.

The Hub on Causeway will bring 1.5 million square feet of mixed-use retail, office, hotel and residential space, as well as an expansion of TD Garden in the coming months.

“The Hub’s activity-driven mix of retail is designed to serve the needs of the commuters, spectators, event-goers and local residents alike, who all converge at the heart of the development at Causeway and Canal Street,” JF Finn, principal of Gensler.

The project is a joint-venture development of Delaware North and Boston Properties and designed by Gensler. Still to come is a cinema, a community room to provide meeting space for neighborhood groups and non-profits, a food hall featuring 15 food-and-beverage concepts, a multilevel sports bar and 175,000 square feet of creative loft office space.

This transit-oriented development is a significant investment that has already brought substantial improvements to North Station, bringing a new entrance for the 50,000 commuters that pass through the station every day.

“The Hub will connect the West End and North End neighborhoods, as well as act as a dramatic presence on the skyline at the northern gateway to the city,” said Bryan Koop, executive vice president, Boston Region, for Boston Properties.
