Sixty undocumented immigrants were found in a locked, refrigerated truck in southern Texas, atop a barrier of frozen produce, border officials said Monday.

The migrants were discovered lying “on and within pallets of broccoli lined with a thin sheet of ice” in the tractor-trailer at the Falfurrias checkpoint on Saturday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement.

The temperature inside the truck was 49 degrees, and the door had been padlocked shut, making it difficult for people to escape, officials said.

A photo of the migrants show them wearing heavy coats in the vehicle.

The immigrants, from Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras, were taken to the Falfurrias Border Patrol Station.

No injuries were reported. The foreigners declined medical attention, CBP said.

The driver, a Guatemalan citizen, was arrested and faces federal charges for smuggling the immigrants.

Last week, 17 immigrants were found in a tractor-trailer at a gas station in Edinburg, Tex. They were all found alive, authorities said.

Last month, 10 immigrants died after authorities discovered them in a sweltering truck at a Walmart parking lot in San Antonio. The driver, 60-year-old James Bradley, was charged with second-degree murder.
