Resources for the Caregiver
These
links below are for caregivers. To properly care for someone and prevent
burnout (that can lead to neglect and abuse), one must take care of him/herself
as well.
- Caregivers, you must take care of you, too! The better you take care of yourself, the better you will be able to take care of the elderly person that is relying on you. Here is a great webpage about self-care from the Family Caregiving Alliance.
- Some other self-care tips can be found here (US Department of Veterans).
- From the Mayo Clinic, some tips to relieve the stress of caregiving.
