Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly get Botox, fillers on live TV

Ouch!

Forty-somethings Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly both underwent cosmetic procedures on live TV during Friday’s episode of the “Today” show.

New mom Gurthrie, 43, got Botox on her forehead, while Daly, 42, got fillers in the “laugh lines” around his mouth.

This was Guthrie’s second time getting Botox, following a bad experience a number of years ago.

“I did Botox once, like, seven years ago and I didn’t like it all … It made my eyebrows stick up,” said the “Today” co-anchor. “I have wrinkles but I don’t really care. I feel like my wrinkles look better than Botox. But … I thought it would be fun to try it [today].”

Dr. Amy Wechsler, a Manhattan dermatologist as well as a psychiatrist, performed the procedures. For Guthrie, that meant four injections on each side of her forehead, plus three in the middle, and for Daly, four shots of Juvaderm on each side of his mouth.

Daly couched his experience by saying fillers aren’t something he’d “normally” consider. “Nothing’s really bothering me, but these are called, like, laugh lines, and they’re deep … I have the opportunity so I’m just going to do it.”
