Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has canceled a weekend campaign trip to North Carolina and New Hampshire in order to attend the funeral of one of the Marines killed in Chattanooga.

The Republican’s campaign announced Thursday evening that Walker would not appear at scheduled stops in Garner, North Carolina, Rochester, New Hampshire and Center Tuftonboro, New Hampshire on Saturday. Walker will instead attend the funeral of Sgt. Carson Holmquist, who hails from Walker’s Badger State.

Walker originally ordered the flags in Wisconsin lowered after Holmquist was one of five killed at an operational support center in Tennessee earlier this month.

“We honor the memory of Sergeant Carson Holmquist, and we will never forget the courage and sacrifice he displayed serving this great country,” he said then in that statement.

Holmquist’s funeral will be held in the town of Grantsburg, Wisconsin.
