Hundreds of people from 10 states and three countries are attending a youth development conference at the University of New England in Biddeford.The Positive Youth Development Institute brings together different agencies to discuss the latest research and skills. This year's keynote speaker is Philadelphia pediatrician Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg.One of the goals of the institute is to focus on what can be done to help young people have better outcomes and thrive in their communities."I think the core of what this information focuses on in these next few days is about the importance of relationships, and about the importance of finding that opportunity to connect to young people in meaningful ways so that they feel seen and heard," said Tim Duffey, president of Bolster Collaborative.WMTW News 8's Katie Thompson served as host and discussed WMTW's "Rise Up Against Bullying" campaign.The institute will continue through Tuesday.
