XXV: The Enduring Vision of Albert Mohler

Dr. R. Albert Mohler is celebrating 25 years as president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Observing his leadership and thought has molded my own leadership and thinking tremendously.  As a graduate of that institution, I was moved to thanksgiving after having watched this video in his honour.

Judge Kavanaugh, and Apologia Studios
Apologia Studios did a good job of assessing this news item, as well as pointing out the importance of the assumption of innocence from a Christian worldview.

The History of the Bruxy Cavey Controversy, in Phases
Now that the teachings of Bruxy Cavey are being discussed at a national level, I've documented here the historical development of the controversy.  I conclude the blog with:

"As for me, I’ve thought a great deal about this, and I look forward to putting the whole thing to rest.  Maybe this is the last blog I’ll ever write on Bruxy Cavey.  I hope it is.  The TGC Canada Council plans to issue a statement in the next few weeks on the matter, and I think a lot of folks remain curious as to what they will say.  As for me, I stand firmly by everything I’ve already said.  I will only change my disposition towards Bruxy Cavey and his teaching if he becomes better known for repenting over his false-teachings than he is known now for espousing them.  So far, with all the ink and the interviews, we are yet to see even the breaking of the dawn of that day.  May God have mercy on Bruxy Cavey, on those who enable him, and on all those who’ve been taken captive by his destructive teaching."

On Sunday, November 18, during the first service IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM, Pastor Jacob will lead a parenting seminar that looks at the biblical view of parenting.  He will be giving the talk that he gave in last year's parenting conference entitled "Discipleship through Discipline."  Many families were blessed by this last year and the biblical truths revolutionized their parenting.  If you are a parent or are planning on becoming a parent and have not had a chance to sit through this teaching then be sure to register.  Trinity Kids will be open and able to accommodate your children during this time.

Congratulations to Chris & Laura McRae on the birth of Jude last week. Jude is a little brother for Donald, Benjamin, James, Peter and Esther. Welcome to the Trinity family Jude!

Parenting Conference: Saturday, November 10 from 9am-2pm

The discipleship of children is a job that is given to parents by God.  Parents are called to teach diligently, the ways of the LORD, to their children. (Deut 6:7)  By nature, children are fools (Proverbs 22:15) and the call of parents is to train children toward wisdom which is the fear of the LORD.  Discipleship happens in all of life and how parents educate their children is an integral part of their discipleship.  Please join us as we learn about the discipleship of children and how it relates specifically to education.  If you are a parent and contemplating education for your children, then set aside November 10 as a time to learn about a vision for discipling children in all of life.

Women and young ladies of Trinity, join us on November 17 at 10:30am for our annual gathering as we enjoy delectable food, fellowship and teaching at our women’s brunch this year. We will be hearing about feminine faithfulness and the impact of a godly woman. This yearly event is a wonderful opportunity for outreach so be sure to invite family and friends!

We will meet on the field after the 11:15am service on October 28 at around 1pm and make some teams. Come and have fun throwing the ball around. Everyone is welcome!

For those that would like to stay and watch, there will be a nice, warm, roaring fire happening in the fire pit to enjoy and still have a great view of the game.

Shepherding a Child’s Heart is about how to speak to the heart of your child. The things your child does and says flows from the heart.
Luke 6:45 puts it this way, “… out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (ESV) Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child’s heart into the paths of life. All DADS welcome!

Your generosity helps us to fulfill our mission of making disciples of all nations!
