I am creating this petition as we were organizing our 5th Berkshire Park Food Truck Social here in Windermere FL, when Orange County Code Enforcement were forced to tell us to stop due to one disgruntled (yet anonymous) home owner. The event was very successful & supported by our community and our HOA. Code Enforcement are now being forced to look into other residential communities' Food Truck events, and shut them down also. At the moment, there are no permits available for commercial vendors to enter a residential area, even if on HOA owned green space and or property. So no one can even apply to get this type of event approved legally. Downtown Orlando recently wrote up a Pilot Program for Food Trucks to abide to within Downtown Orlando Limits. With growing popularity of the Food Truck Phenomenon, communities love getting together at these events. So far there are many food truck events within residential areas locally but no one complained, so now we want to work to make these type of events legal, and standardized around Orange County and surrounding areas.
