About this ebook

She lifted up her granddaughter from the cot, clutched her to her chest and, without looking at her beautiful daughter lying dead on the floor of her bedroom, ran from the house. Only when she was outside did she let a wail escape her lips, frightening the baby who joined in her screams.

When Isabel Gallagher is found murdered on the floor of her baby’s nursery by her mother, it’s a gruelling case for Detective Lottie Parker. Isabel’s pyjamas have been ripped, her throat cut and an old-fashioned razor blade placed in her hand. As Lottie looks at the round blue eyes and perfect chubby cheeks of Isabel’s baby daughter, she can’t understand who would want to hurt this innocent family.

That very same day she receives a call with devastating news. Another young mother, Joyce Breslin, has gone missing, and her four-year-old son Evan has been abducted from daycare. Lottie is sure that the missing mother and son are linked to Isabel’s death, and when she finds a bloody razor blade in their house, her worst fears are confirmed.

Desperate to find little Evan, Lottie leaves no stone unturned as she delves into Isabel and Joyce’s pasts and when she realises the two women have been meeting in secret, she knows she must find out why.

But when Joyce’s body is found in a murky pond and some little bones are found on a windy hillside, it feels as if this merciless killer will stop at nothing. The bones aren’t Evan’s but can they give Lottie the final clue to find the innocent child before more lives are taken?

This absolutely gripping and unputdownable crime thriller from bestselling author Patricia Gibney will leave you gasping for breath. A perfect read for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine.

REVIEW Little Bones by Patricia Gibney DI Lottie Parker #10 Creepy, convoluted, criminal police procedural genre story that tells a tale of abuse, torture, kidnapping, murder, and more. This book was twisted and terrifying for more than one character in the book. It can be read as a standalone story, but readers would know benefit from reading previous books as it would give more background to the characters that appear in each book of the series. What I liked: * The police procedural aspects * Not knowing for sure who the baddie was till near the end * Hoping that the baddie would be caught and meet a horrible fate * Seeing how some of the characters have come along since the last book in the series that I read (have not read them all) * The setting in Ireland * Knowing where the next book will probably head – or at least where one of the characters will be going and why * Finding out that Lottie has not really changed much…though she may have mellowed slightly…maybe? * Reading the last page and knowing the case was closed though there might not be a happy ending for everyone. What I didn’t like: * Those I was meant not to like and all that they did – there were plenty of baddies to hate and wish dealt with. * That so many suffered and knowing that the same type of suffering no doubt exists in real life. Did I enjoy this book? Yes, but it was not an easy read…there might be triggers for some Would I read more by this author? It would depend on the synopsis, I might since I do want to find out what happens next. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4 Stars

4.25⭐ Little Bones is the first police procedural I've read that is set in Ireland and also the first by author Patricia Gibney and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my trip across the Irish Sea. As this was an engaging mystery that was extremely well detailed and had me thoroughly absorbed throughout. Furthermore, the plot kept me guessing and as a new reader the characters personal and professional relationships were easy to follow. Plus, main protagonist Lottie Parker intrigued me enough to want to read the books I've so far missed out on. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Patricia Gibney has hit another home run with the 10th book in the Lottie Parker series. Lottie, Boyd and her team are up against one of their toughest cases as two women are found murdered, one child is safe, one is missing. I love the tension in the team, when Lottie gets exasperated yet knowing they are all working as hard as they can to solve the case. Boyd. I love Boyd. He is such a good soul and a kind man and tries to do right by everyone. I could not put this book down, I might have half guessed the ending but it was great to follow the clues along with the team until the final answer is known. I will be first in line for Book 11. Can't wait.
