Texas Tech hung around for a while, but a huge Kansas run midway through the second half saw the Jayhawks fly away from the Red Raiders by an 85-68 score.

Recap

Normally, KU has been scoring first in games this season, and the Jayhawks ran a great play on their first possession but missed the layup, enabling the Red Raiders to strike first. Their 2-0 lead was extremely short-lived, however, as Kansas quickly built a 19-9 lead. Tech would close to within 3 at 30-27 with 1:25 to go until halftime, but that only seemed to spark the Jayhawks, who Jayhawks took a 10-point, 37-27 lead into the break.

Tech would stay within shouting distance for a while in the second half, eventually closing the gap to 60-55 with 8:24 to play. But once again, it only seemed to spark the Jayhawks, who immediately took off on a 16-2 run to put the game out of reach with 4:57 still to play.

Kansas would coast through the final minutes of the contest, prevailing by an 85-68 final score.
