Jeff Goldblum's first son born on Independence Day

Over the holiday weekend, actor Jeff Goldblum became a first-time father, as his wife gave birth to a son named Charlie Ocean. The 62-year-old actor announced the new addition to their family via Facebook on Tuesday.

Of note — save the wonderful life addition — is Charlie’s actual birthday: the Fourth of July. Independence Day. Goldblum was one of the leads of 1996’s blockbuster, Independence Day, and its upcoming sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence. Of course he had to be born that day. To borrow from another Goldblum standard, with help from the top commenter on his Facebook post: congrats to the couple.
