COVID-19 and Agriculture—Webinar Update

Approximately 1,200 people registered for the Economic Impacts of COVID-19 on Food and Agricultural Markets webinar. It was recorded and posted to our website. There were four panelists—Jayson Lusk, Timothy Richards, Alison Davis, and John Anderson. Lusk covered impacts on the food supply chain, Richards discussed the impact on the fruit and vegetable industry, Davis talked about rural health care during the pandemic, and Anderson reviewed the impact on commodity markets.

For those interested in learning about the impacts of COVID-19 on aquaculture, an attendee shared two links on the topic: Impacts of COVID-19 on U.S. Aquaculture, Aquaponics, and Allied Businesses and Aquaculture Farm Financial Management During the Pandemic.

The webinar received a vast amount of attention on social media platforms. Colleges, companies, organizations, and individuals were excited to share information about the webinar and other publication information. As Lusk put it, the authors covered “everything from trade to food waste to forestry to rural hospitals to corn, soy, cattle, and hogs.”
