This is Lawrence Hines’ Story

With a background as a professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and a Masters Degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah, Lawrence Hines brings a deep understanding of the fundamentals of movement to Asheville Therapeutic Massage. His insights into body mechanics informs the use of massage techniques designed to prevent injury, enhance athletic performance, speed recovery from injury, and overcome chronic pain.

Lawrence is a nationally certified massage therapist. More than two decades experience, backed by 1500 hours of training in massage techniques, kinesiology, and Laban Movement Analysis means massage therapy at Asheville Therapeutic Massage is supported by a greater depth of knowledge about massage, a broad range of therapeutic techniques including cranial sacral therapy, lymphatic draining, direct manipulation, and an understanding of the body as a complex, interconnected mechanical, bio-energetic system.

A long-time resident of Asheville, Lawrence Hines is a member of the  North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy, Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, Asheville Chamber of Commerce, and the Executive Association of Greater Asheville.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Lawrence enjoys road and mountain biking, kayaking, and backpacking with his two sons.

Lawrence also loves volunteering his time riding for the Multiple Sclerosis Society to help raise money in finding a cure of this devastating disease.
