AMITE, La. (WGNO) – State representative and gubernatorial candidate John Bel Edwards (D) hit the campaign trail Monday with his 25 city tour of Louisiana – which includes stops in New Orleans.

Edwards launched his “Put Louisiana First” tour in Amite at 1 p.m. Monday. He is then expected to be at Delgado’s Sidney Collier campus on Louisa Street at 5 p.m.

Edwards is the minority leader in the State House. He hopes to succeed Bobby Jindal as Louisiana’s governor.
