Eat good. Do good. Feel good.

It's the motto of LYFE Kitchen, a new restaurant with an emphasis an environmental responsibility, slated to open at Brentwood's CityPark development. The permit for the 4,071-square-foot restaurant is under review by city staff, according to the city of Brentwood.

LYFE Kitchen, which stands for Love Your Food Everyday, plans to provide a preservative-free menu filled with locally sourced and sustainable ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The restaurant's standards require all dishes contain fewer than 600 calories, according to LYFE Kitchen.

The menu was created by vegan Tal Ronnen as well as Oprah's personal chef, Art Smith. Former McDonald's executives Mike Roberts and Mike Donahue founded the restaurant in 2011 and began aggressively growing the concept in 2013. They have 16 locations nationwide.

LYFE Kitchen's commitment to social responsibility extends from its menu to the restaurant itself. Its locations are LEED-accredited and interiors feature tabletops and chairs made from recycled material.

The restaurant is requesting the approval of a 415-square-foot outdoor patio from the Brentwood Planning Commission. Commissioners will vote on the proposal during Monday's meeting.
