Legendary Kabush Makes the Cover of Pedal

by pedalmag.com

July 22, 2017 (Canmore, Alta.) – We’re stoked to present our next issue of Pedal with legendary Canadian MTB rider and statesman, Geoff Kabush (Scott-Maxxis), on the cover – his first apparently – on the eve of the 2017 MTB Nationals. The only question we had when sending him a copy was “What took us so long?”

Kabush ruled the MTB roost at home for many years while challenging the world’s best on the World Cup circuit and then kicked some cyclocross butt as well. He shared the MTB Frontlines column in Pedal with another legend, Catharine Pendrel (Clif Pro Team), and started his illustrious career as a cross-country AND downhill racer – yep he even wrote about it in one issue.

He’s one of the landmark few Canadian riders to have claimed a national title in more than one cycling discipline with MTB and CX national jerseys in his wardrobe. Fresh off another victory at the BC Bike Race he’s a threat on any start line, and will have more than a few fans cheering him on tomorrow.

Here’s what the main man had to say when he saw the cover, “Awesome. Thanks Benjamin! I’m staying with Gibby and I heard the rumour. Yes, finally made the cover! Funny that this is the first one I do think after all these years. Still having fun though so maybe I’ll have a shot at a second sometime.”

We’re honoured and wish Kabush and all riders the very best this weekend at the biggest race on the domestic MTB calendar taking place at the Canmore Nordic Centre, one of the coolest venues on the circuit.
