Job Description: 

PRO*ACT is North America’s leading distributor of fresh produce sourcing from premier national, regional and local farmers. PRO*ACT streamlines the produce supply chain, offering significant cost benefits and an easy, one-call solution to source the freshest produce from more than 70 third-party inspected, independently owned, local distribution centers across the United States and Canada.

We are currently looking for a Customer Account Manager for our location in Monterey, CA.

As a Customer Account Manager you are responsible for creating growth in our accounts and customer satisfaction. You will minimize preventable company costs while maintaining a high level of efficiency, as well as successfully complete goals and special projects in a timely manner.

Requirements: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (+) years of produce industry experience; account management experience a plus.
  • Ability to use analytical thinking, as well as detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a team or individually.
  • High level of proficiency in Windows-based software programs.
  • Frequently required to work outside of regular business hours; possible 1-2 weeks out-of-town travel annually.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Prepare P.O.s for product sourcing.
  • Allocate and assign contracts to appropriate suppliers.
  • Add pallets, temperature recorders, temperature fees, etc., as necessary.
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure appropriate shipping and cold chain management; maximize freight per truck, while separating orders based on refrigeration needs, potential for product interactions, etc.
  • Manage communication and information flow among suppliers, distributors and other Pro*Act departments.
  • Dispatch orders/P.O.s to distributors and/or logistics personnel.
  • Communicate P.O. changes to suppliers and/or distributors, as appropriate.
  • Follow up with assigned delinquent suppliers to ensure fulfillment; communicate with all relevant departments regarding delays.
  • Communicate with the product manager, supplier, distributor and/or inspector, as needed; follow up to a successful outcome using the Workflow (DMS) process.
  • Monitor and track contract commitments related to assigned distributor accounts.
  • Network and collaborate with the internal team, distributor, procurement, and sales teams to grow business.
  • Visit distributors, attend industry events, and/or participate in Pro*Act’s annual sales and procurement conferences.
  • Serve in “on-call" rotation: Manage after-hours emergencies; communicate outcomes and/or additional needs with procurement; manage customer expectations throughout the process.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned. Leverage our sales revenue.
