When compared with a wide variety of traditional linear TV networks, Netflix is the runaway favorite programming outlet among viewers ages 13-49, according to a survey conducted in June by research firm Ipsos Media CT.

Many more of these viewers are watching the ad-free network for at least five hours each week than spending that amount of time with any other platform — broadcast, cable or digital.

Ipsos found that 25.5% of viewers aged 13-17 tune into Netflix, far more than for runner-up Nickelodeon, which captures 5.7% of this demo. Patterns are similar for those 18-34 and 35-49, with cable and broadcast channels commanding far less than the five-plus hours weekly time for Netflix among these groups.

One major exception: CBS wins with viewers 50-64, with 12% watching the network for at least five hours a week. But Netflix is also well liked in the age bracket, placing in the top five channels, at 7.9%.
