PayPal Now Offers Purchase Protection for Digital Goods

We’ve known for a while that using a credit card or PayPal is the safest way to pay for things online. Now, it’s getting a little safer. If you live in the U.S., PayPal will now extend its consumer protection to digital purchases like apps, services, and event tickets.

This type of consumer protection has been available in the U.K. for a little over a year. The new policy now brings the benefit stateside. What this means is that if you buy any type of digital goods and discover they’re defective, fraudulent, or the company you bought from fails to provide a service, PayPal will help you settle a dispute. Many credit cards already offer this type of protection, so it’s good to see PayPal has finally stepped up to the plate as well.
