UPDATED: Signing Day: FSU basketball expected to sign top 15 class

Wednesday is the first day of the early signing period for basketball, and with four commits already, FSU is set to lock down a top 15 class. With five seniors on the current roster, this is expected to be a large class of recruits.

Florida State has needs all over the board, and will need players who will compete right away for minutes.

As letters of intent come in, we’ll update this thread, but here are the four currently committed to play for FSU basketball:

3* wing Zimife Nwokeji. Nwokeji was the first player to commit to the Seminoles, as he announced in February. He’s a big (6-7), high energy wing, and is a local product out of the Maclay School in Tallahassee. He is ranked as the No. 193 player, according to the 247 Composite rankings.

Next to commit was 6-4 shooter Nathanael Jack, a JUCO player from Eastern Florida State College. He is a PJ Savoy clone as a 3-point specialist, and is considered one of the top three or four shooters in the JUCO ranks. Through five games this year he’s made 43% of his 3s and is attempting seven per contest.

Patrick Williams, out of Charlotte, NC, was the first blue chip recruit landed by Coach Hamilton and staff. The No. 40 player in the nation will remind people of Dwayne Bacon. He’s an excellent shooter and excels going to the rim.

The final commit (for now) is 7-0 Balsa Koprivica. The 4* big is the No. 56 player in the country. He’s a very solid rebounder and shot blocker, and has a bit more of a finesse game in the post. With Christ Koumadje graduating, he should immediately step in to the starting lineup.

Last night, Naheem McLeod committed. He’s listed anywhere from 7’0”-7’3” and is ranked 182nd nationally (3*). He’s seemingly a more developed Koumadje at the same stage.
