Prism Health North Texas began providing services for people in 1986 during the health crisis of HIV/AIDS in North Texas. This small group of concerned community members formed AIDS Arms, Inc., DBA Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX). For the past 35 years, Prism Health North Texas has been serving the critical role of helping connect people to care and services in the area. From this foundation, Prism Health North Texas evolved to become a nationally recognized leader in delivering high-quality HIV and sexual health services in Dallas County and North Texas.

Prism Health North Texas is now the largest, community-based non-profit organization serving North Texas, with health centers in south Dallas, Oak Cliff, and Oak Lawn, providing healthcare for all North Texans in a non-judgmental and affirming environment. The comprehensive array of HIV and STI support services includes primary medical care, STI testing and treatment, PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), case management, care coordination, HIV empowerment, clinical trials, health insurance assistance, emergency housing, and behavioral healthcare. In addition, the Agency maintains a diverse portfolio of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) prevention programs and serves focus populations with high-risk factors such as homelessness, racial/ethnic minorities, and recently released from prison, providing access to lifesaving medical to the people who need it the most regardless of age, race, or gender. Services are provided to everyone, regardless of ability to pay.

The organization maintains a diverse portfolio of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) prevention and treatment programs. Prism Health North Texas provides services to both insured and uninsured individuals, regardless of ability to pay, as well as focus populations with high-risk factors such as homelessness, racial/ethnic minorities, and those recently released from prison, providing access to lifesaving medical care to the people who need it the most regardless of age, race, gender, or health status.
