Beavers Proud to Honor Military Families

July 02, 2015 | Football

In the Beaver state we honor, thank and salute our veterans and active military men and women. Through our BeaverSalute outreach, Oregon State University athletics is proud to again offer veterans and active personnel of the United States Armed Forces an opportunity to enjoy the Friday, Sept. 4 season opener under new head coach Gary Andersen when the football team hosts the Weber State Wildcats at Reser Stadium.

OSU athletics has set aside up to 3,000 reserved tickets for veterans, active personnel and their families to enjoy the season opener (up to four tickets per member). Tickets are first come, first serve and can be reserved at 800-GO-BEAVS, in person at the Gill Coliseum Ticket Office (Room 107) or by ordering online. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (with extended hours until 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays in July and August).

For the season opener, fans will also see a new look to the white OSU football helmets as the Beavers'  logo will turn red, white and blue for this game only to honor our service men, women, veterans and their families.

BeaverSalute will also begin OSU athletics' recognition of 75 years since of the “Men of Roses”, the 1942 victors of the only displaced Rose Bowl in the history of the granddaddy of all bowl games.  The legendary team played Duke in the only non-Pasadena Rose Bowl as the game was moved to the Blue Devils' home stadium in Durham, NC as the United States government prohibited large public gatherings on the west coast following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Beginning July 8, fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets in the amenity-filled Club level for the season opener for the special price of $79 and $99 for San Jose State on Sept 19.  In addition to the Club special, full season ticket options are available for as low as $150 as is the new half-season Quick 3 plan. To get in on the action go to beavertickets.com or call 800-GO-BEAVS.
