San Francisco Symphony Chinese New Year Concert: 3 p.m. Feb. 24, Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave. Celebrate Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dog with the San Francisco Symphony at this family event that draws on both ancient and contemporary traditions. Arrive at 2 p.m. for an activity-filled, pre-concert reception with Chinese instruments, lion dancing, “lucky” red envelopes, tea bars, sweet and savory bites and more.
