Zane State honored by OACC

ZANESVILLE – Zane State College was recently recognized with three awards from the Ohio Association of Community Colleges.

American Electric Power received the Outstanding Business Partnership Award for its work with Zane State, including hiring Zane State graduates and contributing $200,000 in the early stages of the community college’s campaign to build two new learning centers.

Zane State trustee emeritus Gene MacDonald was presented with the Founders Award for his work in establishing the OACC. He was a board trustee for 36 years at Zane State and was the first winner of the OACC Maureen C. Grady Award for Special Achievement in 1995.

Zane State President Dr. Paul R. Brown was recognized for his 11 years of leadership to the institution. He’s slated to retire at the end of June. In Brown’s tenure the college experienced enrollment growth, construction of two new learning centers and receipt of several national awards and recognitions.
