Good day GEHMS! I am Cierra Cruickshank, interviewer and psychologist extraordinaire for the FarCorners Studios official Tumblrverse! Welcome back to another installment of We Are Not Alone, the series that features exclusive one-on-one interviews of all of the stars that help to take us to the farcorners of the imagination: the cast (characters), the crew (artists), and the FCS staff. Today we are speaking with the coldest man alive, Gerald Petworth aka Ice Storm …
What was it like growing up in your town, Penns Grove, NJ?
Quiet. The people were friendly.
When did you first discover your powers?
I was 15.
How did you discover them?
I made water cold. I was drinking warm water and it just became really cold. Didn’t put too much thought into it then. I played football for my high school and one day, during a game, underneath all of my equipment, I could feel my skin hardening. It was a strange feeling. One of my teammates said I was smoking and noticed some ice buildup on my back. I left the field and ran to the lockers. When I looked into the mirror, my face started to become covered in ice. It wasn’t until I worked for the government did I learn to fly.
Did you/ do you ever just have fun with your powers (i.e. creating ice sculptures, etc.)?
Not before. Now, sometimes.
What stopped you?
I was afraid it could draw unnecessary attention. I did things in private, but don’t we all?
You’re right, and it’s understandable now that you’ve put it into perspective for me. You seemed to have a sense of responsibility from an early age. Tell me about your family.
My mother is Panamanian, came here when she was 16. She met my father while in high school in Philadelphia. They married shortly after I was born. My father always considered himself a provider; hard worker. Neither of my parents went to college but they always wanted more for me. My mother started working cleaning up other people’s homes but that stopped when we moved to Jersey. My father worked for Premco Pharmaceuticals as a Quality Assurance Specialist at their largest Northeast plant.
What did your mother do after she stopped cleaning houses? Was there no longer a need for the extra income?
She became a homemaker.
How did your parents react to your powers?
My mother is stronger than my father. My father didn’t really want to deal with it for some reason. My mother supported me. If she was scared, she didn’t show it. When the men in black came, he didn’t say anything.
You seem to have a stronger connection to your mother than your father. What was your relationship like with your father before and after discovering your powers?
My father was a provider. He wasn’t a communicative person. He did his job, and he did it well. He made sure we had everything we needed and much of what we wanted. He was strict. I didn’t grow up watching a lot of TV and I couldn’t hang out with my friends after it started to get dark. It was my mother’s insistence that I be allowed to join a sport. He did come to games that weren’t too far away.
What was it like in the house for the next two years, after discovering your powers, but before the “men in black” came?
I told my mother but not my father. She said that she would tell him. He never talked to me about it. I tried to force the topic by freezing things of his and it just made him upset. He refused to talk and so we just didn’t talk about it. Other than that, nothing was that difficult. It’s what made it easier to leave when the time came.
Do you ever wonder, or do you know how the government found out about your powers to recruit you?
I think my dad had something to do with it. No proof, but we were pretty low key. Penn’s Grove isn’t really on anyone’s radar so I honestly don’t know how they knew. I remember overhearing a conversation my dad had with my mother and they mentioned something about my 17th birthday. I didn’t make the connection at the time.
Even though you said you have no proof, do you harbor any ill feelings towards your father for the role he may have played in the government taking you?
No.
No? Interesting. It seems like you had a rather distant relationship with your father. Could that be a reason you didn’t harbor ill feelings?
Could be. I also understand the bigger picture and I know my father was a man who could see things I couldn’t see. He had our best interest at heart. I know that, and that’s all that matters.
What is it like being separated from your family and never being able to contact them again?
It’s tough, but it’s something I have to do right now. If they learn that I am alive, they might be in danger as well.
You seem pretty protective of your family…
Why shouldn’t I be?
And pretty defensive.
I’m not defensive! I just don’t like stupid questions. If you love someone, wouldn’t you protect them?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be, merely stating an observation and inviting you to talk more about your feelings regarding your family.
Is this a counseling session or an interview? I think we should end this conversation if this line of questioning is going to continue.
Fine. Let’s change direction. You made a crack about being “costumed super heroes”, is that such a terrible thing?
Do you want to run around in spandex and a cape? I’m not trying to be anyone’s hero. I believe in the mission, that’s it.
Well … if you ask meeee, spandex isn’t horrible *laugh*, but I can see where you’re coming from. What was your first assignment with Dr. Grant?
We never actually went anywhere with him. He would just tell us to go check something out. It was more like busy work, you know?
Ahh, I see, what kind of things did he have you “check out”?
Reports of GEHM sightings. We were looking for people like us. He never told us why. Almost all were just dead ends.
How do you feel about going from a team of two to a team of five virtually overnight?
It’s a headache. And this “team” word annoys me. Teams are not made overnight. Teams are based on trust. Training with someone for months and years, you build trust. I trust Kari. I don’t know these other three. Plus we are talking about bringing on more people?
As one of the first people chosen by Dr. Grant, and seemingly a leader for this new group of individuals - there, is that better than ‘team’? - it seems like you may have to put that notion, of building trust over time, aside and work with what you have for now, until you can build trust, and build it faster than you like.
Leader? I’ll end up taking point, me or Kari, because we’re the only ones trained if we were to get into a firefight. There is no leader.
Taking point?
Taking lead in a particular scenario.
I see. Do you foresee anyone else in this group ever being able to take point?
No.
Who on the team do you trust the most/least? Why?
We know who I trust the most and it should be obvious who I trust the least.
I could speculate, but I’d rather you tell me.
I’ll let you speculate.
*sigh* Well what makes a person untrustworthy?
I’m not answering stupid questions.
You and Vibrant seem to be polar opposites. Does that make it difficult to work with her?
Not at all. That’s our strength.
How so?
I’ll let you speculate on that too.
To that end. What makes a person trustworthy?
*deep sigh*
Okay … how do you feel about flying?
I like it. It’s one of the best things about being … different
What’s the worst thing? Again, I could speculate … but I’d rather hear from you.
There’s nothing better or worse than being different
Do you fly often?
All the time. Wouldn’t you?
Maybe, but what is your reason for flying often ?
Are we done?
Sure, thank you for taking time to talk with me.
Well GEHMs, that’s all we have time for today. Join us next time as we sit with the quietest member of the group, Eloni “Aaron” Williams aka Stampede! Is he a gentle giant or a big bully?

Good day GEHMS! I am Cierra Cruickshank, interviewer and psychologist extraordinaire for the FarCorners Studios official Tumblrverse! Welcome back to another installment of We Are Not Alone, the series that features exclusive one-on-one interviews of all of the stars that help to take us to the farcorners of the imagination: the cast (characters), the crew (artists), and the staff. Today we are speaking with the beautiful and powerful, Kari James, aka Vibrant …
When did you first discover your powers?
I was 14
Did you immediately accept them?
No.
You are the youngest of four, correct? Three brothers; how did your family react when they found out about you?
They were scared. We all were.
Tell me about the first time your powers revealed themselves to you.
I was having a fight with my mother. I told her how unfair it was for me to not be able to date. So silly of me, looking back now. I thought I was so mature. My mother was a school teacher so she seemed to know that a 14 year old, freshman in high school, was not able to make sound decisions about anything. But I was furious with her, and in my anger I began to generate waves of vibrational energy that nearly killed us all.
Wow. I can see how that must have been scary. Did your family behave differently toward you after your powers activated?
I think I was more afraid than they were. My mother decided to homeschool me afterwards. She quit her job because of me.
How do you feel about her quitting her job to help you?
I felt bad and it pushed me further away from them. I was filled with guilt, still am. My family has sacrificed so much for me.
How did you feel after entering the service, but going to a completely different part than your brothers?
I was okay with that. I knew I was different so I had a different path from them.
*nods* What were your thoughts about the U.S. government before and after your recruitment and training?
I didn’t have thoughts about them prior. Now, I feel they are more secretive, more paranoid, and more dangerous than they were before. We were an oddity to them. There was nothing like Gerald and I. As far as we knew, we were the only ones. We were treated like part of the team. But when word spread that there were others, there was this dark side. Then 9-11, and we became THEM. I am thankful for all the government has done for me. I wouldn’t be here, physically and mentally, had I not joined.
Hmmm … what do you mean you wouldn’t be here “physically” were it not for the government? Mentally?
I would not be sitting here with you. I wouldn’t have the training and skills either.
How do you think “we” (you, Gerald, other GEHMs) became “THEM”? Do you think you all were just classified as “other”?
Not sure. It’s the history of people I guess. We just end up labeling each other.
Yes, I understand that and have to agree. Do you think that “otherness” contributed to the plan to destroy all the GEHMs?
I don’t know what the real plan is or why they are trying to get rid of us. The history of people, in almost every culture, is that there is always going to be a group that everyone picks on. I guess now it is our turn.
You make a lot of reference to history and give us your view from a very sociological and almost philosophical perspective.
My mother is to thank for that. While homeschooling me, she taught me a lot about people and the history of mankind. She was preparing me for the challenges I would face for being different.
What is it like being separated from your family and unable to contact them?
It’s hard. I didn’t tell anyone this, not even Gerald, but my parents were onboard United Flight 93. My brothers died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Oh my. I’m sorry…that’s horrible and must be incredibly hard. Have you been able to visit the memorial for Flight 93 at all?
No
Would you? Of course, when you’re ready?
I will … one day
It was intimated that if there are lulls in which you do not use your powers they are quite powerful the next time you use them, and you can sometimes hurt yourself or others around you when you do use them again. If that is the case, why don’t you use your powers more often? Or practice using them for better control?
That’s not true. I’ve never heard of that.
How do you feel about flying?
It’s okay. Gerald does it more than me but I am not against it.
Why don’t you fly often?
Most days I just want to be normal. Gerald uses it as a means of escape. I don’t see the point.
What do you mean, you don’t see the point?
I just don’t see the point in trying to escape when you will always have to come back.
True. You seem to have a pretty cynical view of the world…why is that?
Cynical? I never looked at it that way.
You said you “ignore” in order to “escape”. Why is that?
“You can’t change that which is not in your power to change.” I heard that quote from somewhere.
What are some things you think are “not within your power to change” or that you choose to “ignore” to “escape”? Do you ever try to solve the things you may be ignoring?
How can I change the way other people perceive me? Why should I?
Well GEHMs, that’s all we have time for today. Join us next time as we attempt to break through Gerald Petworth’s cold exterior. Is he ever going to warm up to the rest of his teammates?

Today we are speaking with the young and bright, Grayson Brooks, aka Flare …
What was your early childhood like?
Crazy. I’ve been in foster care for as long as I can remember. By the time I got to high school, I’d been in six different schools.
I can imagine that must have been difficult. Were you close to any of your foster siblings?
One. He was like a brother to me. His name was Anthony, Anthony Lane. We were in the 8th grade together. Thought we were going to be in high school together, but that didn’t happen.
Tell me about Anthony? What was he like?
He was nice, protective, like a big brother.
Why didn’t you end up in the same high school? Was he adopted?
He was shot. Out on his bike and shot by some hoods. Crazy.
I’m so sorry to hear that.
I didn’t get to attend his funeral or anything.
Were you able to get close to anyone else in that way again?
No, but I think this time might be different.
How so?
I really feel a connection with these guys … Kari, Alex, Eloni, Gerald. I’m really happy to be here with them.
I want to talk more about your new relationship with the other members of your team but I want to go back to your past life for a moment. Your parents … you said your mother died during childbirth and father died of a drug overdose. How did you find this out?
My caseworker at the time told me.
Do you ever wonder how much truth there is to that story particularly since you often went to the doctor only to wake up and find yourself somewhere else?
I do, but what does it matter now? They’re not here and maybe it was for a good cause, you know? Kari said to me that everything happens for a reason, and I believe that. Look at me, I’m different. Maybe it was for the best because they wouldn’t be able to take care of someone like me.
I can understand why you might feel it is not important to, or may not want to, talk about your parents. It’s difficult, even if you didn’t know them. You’re right, everything does happen for a reason including your being in foster care, but I think it is equally important to seek truth versus speculation. That is what it seems you have right now: lots of speculation, but unfortunately, very little facts. What was it like having the government run tests on you?
I rather not talk about that. It
wasn’t always pleasant. I’m just glad that I don’t have to go through that
anymore and I’m glad that I’m working with Dr. Grant who doesn’t want to see
that happen to others like us.
Do you know what the tests were for?
No.
When and how did you discover your powers?
I was 12. I showed one of the other foster kids while living with this woman. He went and told her. I showed her what I could do. I was sent to live with someone else. I never shared my secrets again.
Wow, sounds tough to not be able to share an integral and cool, might I add, part of yourself. Did that make it hard to get close to any of the other foster kids?
Yea. I just kept that part of me a secret. Never explored what I could do because I was just too afraid of what might happen.
So I’ve asked your teammates how they view this experience of living and working alongside total strangers that are somewhat complete opposites. How do you feel?
Like I said to Kari on the lightrail. Waking up to strangers, living with strangers, and getting adjusted quickly to change is the life of a foster child. After seventeen years of it, it’s nothing. I love the whole “team” thing. It’s the first time in my life where I actually feel like I belong. I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.
Tell me about your happiest moment. Is this one of them?
Absolutely. Joining up with Dr. Grant and the rest of them might be the happiest moment I will ever have. May sound crazy but when I woke up and realized I was surrounded by people like me, I felt better than I’ve ever felt before.
*Smile* It seems like you may have finally found a family. Are you looking forward to anything in particular?
Nope. Just enjoying the moments.
Awesome. Thanks for sitting down and talking to me.
Well GEHMs, that’s all we have time
for today. I would like to thank you for being a part of season one of We Are Not Alone featured here in our
Tumblrverse. It’s been a pleasure being your host as we get answers to the
tough questions from the cast you’ve come to love. Be sure to check us out on

Good day fellow bloggers!! I am Cierra Cruickshank, interviewer and psychologist extraordinaire for the official FarCorners Studios Tumblrverse! Today is a great day because it marks the inaugural launch of our Tumblr and the #WeAreNotAlone series. The series will feature exclusive one-on-one interviews of all of the stars that help to take us to the farcorners of the imagination: the cast (characters), the crew (artists), and the staff. To start us off on this new adventure is the fastest man on the planet, Dr. Benjamin Grant’s first recruit, and resident boy genius, Alexander Kyong, also known as Streaks! So let’s jump right in …
So Alex, it’s great having you here with us but I know you don’t have much time so we are going to try and get to all the good parts for our readers. Did Dr. Grant give you all your nicknames or did you choose the name Streaks?
That was the name the fellas back home gave to me.
Where is home?
San Fran. The bay area.
Nice. I was just recently out that way. While on board the Lightrail, on your way to Lebanon, you asked the others to share their story but you didn’t want to reveal much about yourself, why was that?
There isn’t much to say. I’m Cali born and raised. Came to the east coast on a scholarship. Got hired by the doc, and here I am.
How did you discover your powers?
Running from the cops *laughs* Nah, seriously it was during a gang fight in the park. Was trying to keep my boy from getting stabbed.
Oh wow. That must have been a crazy experience. Next time you are on the show I would like to hear more about that. Did you have frequent run in with the cops?
Nope. The first time I was with my boys in a car. We were pulled over. Suspended license, but the cop let us go, with a ticket of course. What he didn’t know was that we had weed under our seats!
Luckily he didn’t ask to check. Do you smoke? If you do, have you ever used your powers while high?
No. Don’t smoke. Inhaled once. *smile*
What did your parents say about your abilities?
Nothing. My mom heard rumors but never talked about it. My pops don’t know a thing about me.
Where is he?
Probably back in Korea. No clue. Don’t care either.
Understood. What is your relationship like with your mom?
Love her. She’s really all I got. She’s supportive. Even when I got in trouble with the wrong crowd, she never gave up on me.
Is there anything more precious than a mother’s love? So, how fast are you?
Something like Mach 1. Or was it 3? *smile*
Nice! How did you find that out?
Just a guesstimate
Cool, can you walk/run on water too?
Never tried it. Can’t swim, you know?
Oh really? Hopefully one day you learn how, it’s great. Let’s talk about school. You’re obviously a smart guy. Did your super intelligence
alienate you while in school?
Umm … no. And I’m not smart because I’m fast if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m smart because I know how to read and comprehend.
Ok, thanks for the clarification. That was what I was thinking. Not so much that you are only smart because of your powers, but that “super speed” also sped up your thinking processes. What were your SAT scores like?
Never took it.
You found your way to college, Rutgers University to be exact, and after the first year you dropped out. Why did you drop out?
Duty called. And a paycheck.
“Duty”? Duty to what?
This … this team stuff.
What makes you feel a duty or an obligation to become a part of the team?
Seems cool, exciting. Besides, look at the economy! Three hots and a cot, get to do whatever I want … no real worries. I don’t see why anyone would want to turn this down.
You’ve worked for Dr. Grant for sometime now. And it was alluded that you created the Lightrail. Where did you get the idea?
I didn’t build the thing. I just had an idea, and the idea was me. I thought it would be cool to understand how I move so fast and see if we could transfer the same principles to a car or plane or something.
Did you pitch the idea to Dr. Grant and work with him on the logistics? Did the creation of the light rail help you understand how you move so quickly?
Yes and no. Grant wanted to create something that could move people from one location to another really fast. He had this network of tunnels he been building since like the 50s or something, I don’t know. We studied the mechanics of my abilities, realizing that part of the reason I move fast is because I suppress the effects of friction, among other things. I suggested we use the same principles on a vehicle. Sounds easier than it looks and I honestly didn’t think it was possible. I never knew they were building it, though. I had been assigned to work on new power systems for NASA.
Do you ever wonder how Dr. Grant found you or knew about your powers?
He was a guest lecturer at the college. I answered a few of his questions and he gave me his business card. I took him up on the offer and the rest is history.
What was the lecture on?
Power systems and telecommunications
Hmm, ok. That doesn’t quite answer the question of how he knew about your powers. Was there any indication that he knew you had powers in your dialogue back and forth in class?
I don’t know how the man knew I had powers or if he did know at the time. Honestly, I don’t know how he knows any of the things he know.
How do you feel about your team as a whole and individual members?
I’m used to rolling with a clique, so it ain’t much to get used to. You may not like everyone all the time, but in the end, we are all we got. Kari is a hottie, but I think she got her eyes on the snowman. Eloni is low key, but we talk and he’s cool. I feel for Grayson, growing up without friends and family all his life. Good kid. I like him.
I notice you didn’t mention Gerald individually. Is there a reason for that?
Gerald is who he is. Not someone I would call up to shoot the shit with, but hey.
Also, you said you’re used to “rolling with a clique”, that’s a unique way to put it. What do you mean by that?
You never heard of a clique?
I have, but I have a feeling my idea of a clique and yours would vary vastly. So again, what is a clique to you?
A small group of people, with shared interests or other features in common, who spend time together and do not readily allow others to join them.
Well GEHMs, that’s all we have time for today. Join us next time as we meet the beautiful Kari James and find out her secret for being the center of everyone’s affection.

Team Genesis #1: Pleasant Introductions
There are humans that possess special abilities and Dr. Benjamin Grant is actively recruiting. His first two initiates, Kari James and Gerald Petworth, are sent out on a rescue mission but are confronted by the United States Department of Homeland Security and two others with super human abilities. Will they succeed in the rescue operation or will they need rescuing?
