Kiran Ahluwalia is a modern purveyor of the great vocal traditions of India and Pakistan which she honors intensely yet departs from in assertive ways. Her original compositions embody the essence of Indian music while embracing influences from both the West and Africa -- specifically the Sahara. Kiran Ahluwalia credits three powerful influences with shaping her music: Sikh spirituals, classical Indian music, and the lush passions of Bollywood musicals.

Expressing her muse through ghazals and Punjabi folk songs, the Juno award winner explores the language of the heart with beautiful artistry and smoldering intensity. Her music reveals a compelling harmony that unites diverse inspirations into a truly sublime and satisfying whole.

Touring with Kiran is her musical and marital partner, Rez Abbasi, a #1 Voted Rising Star in Downbeat 2016 Critics Poll for jazz guitar. With her 4-piece band, Kiran creates boundary-breaking songs that invite us to explore the human condition.
