Four-legged Evesham cop nabs suspects

EVESHAM - A township police dog helped nab a pair of suspects during a recent traffic stop.

Richard Stone, 30, and Zachary Kelleher, 22, both of Philadelphia, were pulled over by police on Greentree Road at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19. During the investigation, police called in K-9 EZ to walk around the exterior of their vehicle. The dog alerted officers to narcotics inside the car. Officers searched the vehicle and found 69 oxycodone pills and marijuana.

Stone was arrested and charged with second degree distribution of pharmaceutical pills and third degree possession. Kelleher was charged with a disorderly persons offense for possession of marijuana. Both were released on their own recognizance.
