Watch Latin American Music Awards

Here’s another sign that the virtual reality space is heating up: Trade shows for VR companies are getting bigger by the month. Case in point: The Virtual Reality Los Angeles Summer Expo, hosted by the Virtual Reality Foundation, is coming to the Los Angeles Convention Center on August 29.

That’s especially remarkable because the expo has its roots in a simple meetup for a few dozen VR enthusiasts in 2013. Fast forward two years, and event organizers are expecting 3,000 attendees.

The expo will be followed by another event from the same organizers: On September 22, the Virtual Reality Foundation is inviting the industry to the second annual Proto Awards, which are meant to celebrate achievements in virtual reality. The event happens to coincide with the second annual Oculus Connect Developers’ Conference, and submissions for the awards open next month.
