We know that you care about what is happening around you but the info is not always easy to access. Here are a few ways to make sure you never miss a beat and stay up to date with city news.

  1. Connect with the city online. Subscribe to The City of Boston Newsletter, visit city website, and get info about what is going on from the many news sources throughout the city.
  2. Follow your representatives and agencies on social media. Mayor Marty Walsh and the City of Boston are just two of the many twitter accounts in Boston on social media. Other city departments have their own Facebook and Twitter accounts that are available to give you information, find all of them here.
  3. Learn about Boston’s history. In order to have a better understanding of Boston today, it is important to understand the city’s rich history. Walk the Freedom Trail, go to one of the many museums throughout the city, or do some of your own research online.
  4. Join a community organization. Whether it is a sports league, volunteer organization, an art group, or an advocacy group, getting involved goes a long way. Choosing to get involved in something that is important to you, will help you address any issues that arise to your government.
  5. Attend public meetings. Neighborhood nights, community meetings, and city meetings are the perfect opportunity to have your voice heard. It is important to speak up for what you believe in and have a voice in the greater community. Being engaged with the city is the best way to see changes.
