Spring fever has hit the animal kingdom and it has left the humane society feeling the summer heat.
To cope with the seasonal rush of births, The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society is cutting adoption fees in half this week.
“With springtime we see an influx of both puppies and kittens and litters being born,” said director Melanie Blanchette. “Right now at the humane society, we’re a bit overwhelmed.”
There are also a lot of adult dogs and cats among the 130 animals needing to be adopted and given local homes.
The half price adoption rates will continue through to Sunday, July 5th.
