Haute couture is French for 'high fashion', and there is no brand more synonymous with high fashion than Chanel. This season of couture was anything but average for Chanel, who introduced a surprising ecological element to their typically intricate pieces. For this collection, Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel's team of designers focused on utilizing organic materials—such as paper and wood chips—as details on garments.The amount of time and energy that goes into just one couture piece is known for being arduous even without this added challenge.
