United Nations Day

By MiNDFOOD

United Nations Day
October 24 is UN Day.

October 24th is United Nations Day, which has been celebrating the goals and successes of the UN since 1948. Historically, United Nations Day has been recognised around the globe with discussions and exhibits around the aims and achievements of the organisation, and in 1971 the General Assembly suggested it become a public holiday for member states.

Other celebrations include cultural performances, food festivals and more, while some countries acknowledge the day in their own way. The United States issue a proclamation every year, while in the Philippines students dress in national clothing.
