About Us

The Denver Sheriff Department seeks an UNPAID INTERN OR INTERNS to assist the Public Information Office with the creation of short, professionally produced videos that tell the behind-the-scenes stories of the Department. As one of the most robust law enforcement agencies in the state, which books more than 30,000 people a year, there are hundreds of untold stories about what we do and who works for us -- the deputies, psychologists, K-9 handlers, academy instructors and investigators, to name a few.

We are looking for dynamic, exceptionally creative people who are passionate about film and video production. Emphasis will be on training the intern/s in storytelling techniques in preparation for a career in the media, videography and/or public information. Short video pieces about the Department, created by you, will be uploaded on to the Department's website, YouTube channel and social media pages, and distributed to the media.

The intern/s must be enthusiastic, self-starters who know what they're doing, and are looking to build on their skills and get experience in a real-world law enforcement setting. Sound knowledge of shooting and editing video is essential. We'll want you to think up compelling story ideas the same way as you would at a news organization, and then execute them. Under the direction of the Department's Public Information Officer, you'll be responsible shooting, editing and distribution of all video content. You must be reliable, punctual, conscientious, professional and well-organized.
