Wayne’s brother Larry Wettlaufer joined the Eric Drozd Show this morning and says his brother was very dedicated to his family and the community.

“I loved my brother, it’s tough for all of us right now because it was such a shock. He lived a full life, family came first but his service to the community would we a close second.”

He also spoke about his brother’s dedication to St.Mary’s Hospital and Conestoga College.

“He was dedicated to the hospital and the same thing with Conestoga College with granting degrees, he was really behind that. People don’t give politicians credit a lot of the time for how much work they do, but Wayne worked endlessly.”

Wettlaufer was elected to regional council this past October.

He also served as a Conservative MPP from 1995 to 2003.

Prior to entering politics, Wettlaufer attended the University of Guelph, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
He also spent a number of years working in the insurance industry.
