Feel like your kitchen is lacking a little something-something? Wish your bathroom had a bit more sparkle and shine? Well, the latest design trend to go viral is here to answer all of those blinged-out dreams (and more): Glitter grout is a real thing now.
It's not as tacky as it sounds, we promise—it's actually kind of amazing. Glitter grout adds just enough shimmer to kitchen and bathrooms, making backsplashes, tiled showers and tubs, and floors permanently gleam (without having to scrub on your hands and knees for hours). The effect is less over-the-top-Bedazzler and more subtle-highlighter—giving the areas you want to showcase just enough of a pop.
It's also a rather affordable way to add some sparkle to a kitchen and bathroom. Instead of splurging on fancy tile, which can run into the thousands, glitter grout will set you back only a few bucks. It can be achieved two ways: by purchasing an additive that can be mixed into any standard grout for around $8, or grabbing a premixed version (in the color of your choice) for about $24. (Both come from U.K.-based company Staffordshire Silicones, the "home of glitter grout.")
