AUSTIN, Texas – Winona State Softball's Ashley Walker has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Thursday.

The Shakopee, Minn. native recorded a 3.87 GPA in Physical Education and Health Promotion. The dual-threat pitcher and hitter for the Warriors finished her senior season with a record of 21-5 with a 2.55 ERA while striking out 106 batters and walking just 38 in 170 innings pitched. At the plate, Walker recorded a WSU single-season record 23 doubles while batting .372.

In her fantastic Warrior career, Walker ranks fourth in doubles (53), seventh in home runs (23), eighth in batting average (.362) and ninth in hits (231). She also holds the fourth-most career wins in the circle with 62 and is sixth all-time in innings pitched with 515.2.

Walker is the third Warrior softball player in program history to earn Capital One Academic All-America® honors, joining Kim Wachholder and Kathy Crudo, who each earned the award in 2012. Walker is also one of just three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference softball players to earn the accolade this season, joining Minot State's Melissa Bell and Ali Cygan on the second team. In all, just 33 players throughout Division II were given the honor.

Winona State finished its 2015 season with a record of 46-14, its 16th straight winning season while earning its ninth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the 11th in the past 13 seasons.
