Popular SoCal Beach Closed Over Reports Of Oil Globs

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A popular area of Manhattan Beach has been cordoned off Wednesday following a report that oil globs were washing ashore.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the oil globes were reported by firefighters just after 12:30 p.m. along the 2200 block of The Strand.

Following the report, an overflight search was conducted by the Coast Guard, who report that they did not find sheen, nor the source of the oil.
