Amy Schumer 'defends' Bill Cosby in wicked sketch: We deserve to watch TV 'like no one's raping'

Amy Schumer “defended” Bill Cosby against rape allegations made against him by nearly 40 women who say the comedian drugged and sexually assaulted them over more than 40 years.

Schumer portrayed a defense attorney in a fictional trial Tuesday night on her Comedy Central program, reminding “jurors” they wouldn’t be able to enjoy Cosby’s television programs quite as much if he were guilty of rape.

"If convicted, the next time you put on a rerun of 'The Cosby Show,' you may wince a little, might feel a little pang," she said. "We don't deserve to feel that pang. We deserve to dance like no one's watching, and watch like no one's raping."

She conceded in her closing argument that the prosecutor had presented a mountain of evidence from “all these women, same story, same facts – repetitive,” and that probably made jurors feel bad about enjoying Cosby’s comedy.

Schumer played a fictionalized clip from “The Cosby Show” as jurors laughed, and she asked if any of them felt raped by watching it.

“I felt comforted by a familiar father figure, nostalgia, happiness, laughter – not guilty,” she said.

Schumer handed out pudding pops, which Cosby promoted for years as spokesman for Jell-O, to eager jurors as the fictional prosecutor fumed.

“How could the face of such a yummy treat even do anything bad?” Schumer asked, tossing a popsicle to the judge. “I mean, how would that even work?”
