POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist College held its 69th Commencement Exercises, with the Adult Undergraduate and Graduate Ceremony taking place Friday evening, and the Traditional Undergraduate Ceremony being held on Saturday.
From an athletics standpoint, the Class of 2015 will be remembered for several significant accomplishments:
- 87 were conference All-Academic honorees.
- 68 were members of conference championships teams.
- 34 participated in Division I national championships.
- 12 were named recipients of "Who's Who" among college students.
- 8 have been named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District.
- The women's swimming & diving program won MAAC championships in all four years at Marist, including the school's 100th MAAC championship in 2014.
- The class won the overall Commissioner's Cups twice (2013, 2014), three women's Commissioner's Cups (2012, 2013, 2014) and one men's Commissioner's Cup (2013).
- On Friday, senior Candace Bernitt was presented the Glenn Marinelli Award for Excellence in Athletic Training. Candice will attend the University of Virginia next fall as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, the same school Glenn received his Master's from.
