Chris Weidman (13-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) again proved his path to becoming UFC champion was no fluke on Saturday night with a first-round TKO victory over Vitor Belfort (24-11 MMA, 13-7 UFC) in the UFC 187 co-headliner from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Weidman successfully defended his belt for the third time overall with the win. For anyone who doubted Weidman following his wins over Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida, it’s essentially impossible to dismiss him now with his unblemished record still in tact.
