The Materials Characterization and Processing facility has been recognized and honored by Baltimore Building Congress & Exchange (BC&E) for the outstanding workmanship on electrical conduit and coordination, or Power generation, Distribution and Switchgear.  

BC&E has been honoring the talent and skill that goes into exemplary craftsmanship within the construction industry with the Craftsmanship Award for more than 80 years. This year, over 50 talented craftsmen representing 11 categories and 19 companies from the Baltimore Metropolitan area were honored at the 83rd Annual Craftsmanship Awards held on October 14th at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House.

The winning project was recognized for the craftsmanship involved in retrofitting the existing electron microscope labs with new electrical pathways at the Materials Characterization and Processing located in the newly renovated Stieff Silver building.
