WriteGirl Launches Bold Ink Writers!

The WriteGirl team is so excited to announce our inaugural program for teen boys—Bold Ink Writers! We’re branching out our program to use creative writing as a vehicle for self expression to cultivate the voices of more young people and develop the communication skills they need to achieve academic and professional success.

We’re looking for professional male writers in the Los Angeles area who can help lead creative writing activities and mentor teen boys (and co-ed participants) in group settings at workshops spanning different areas in Los Angeles, including community centers to detention camps, focusing on helping these underserved teen boys.

Teen boys are in dire need to have a positive environment filled with accomplished writers, role models, and mentors. Bold Ink volunteers can teach them leadership skills to help these boys write paths to overcome challenges they face at home, in school, and in their communities, and guide them toward the path to college.

Workshops will begin in July 2015 and will most likely take place during weekday afternoons and on weekends.

Know men who would make inspiring, reliable, caring, and wonderful volunteers and mentors? Please share the Bold Ink application with them, here. Applications are due TUESDAY, JUNE 2nd, 2015.

A mandatory full-day training for volunteers is on Sunday, June 7th.
